Morrie Williams - 2-11-2016 at 12:32 PM

Looks like May 27 - June 4.

kiteboyza - 9-11-2016 at 03:01 PM

Thanks Morrie, Looks like I'll be later this year, Chilli Peppers play Edmonton on 28th

Morrie Williams - 9-11-2016 at 05:27 PM

Means you'll have to stay late!

Blitzhound - 3-4-2017 at 02:32 PM

So...I missed out on IBX. Thank god for SOBB!! Looking forward to seeing friends and ride sunset beach. Razor clams at buggy camp! Sand Flea? Also would like to suggest another swap meet? Had some good swapping going on last year. I think some people got some good deals on some sweet gear.
I'm also hoping I might get an opportunity to demo a few select models of kites. If they manage to make there way to SOBB. I know most people are pretty generous with their kites. I for one am willing to let anyone fly anything in my arsenal. In particular I'm hoping to demo a FS Peak, and/or one of the newer Ozone foils. Such as an Access, Frenzy, Summit. Preferably with the re-ride system. If you plan on being at SOBB and you have one of these you might be willing to demo please let me know. Maybe we can workout a demo or even a demo swap.

Thank God for SOBB!

Sunset is in perfect condition.

Wind_dog - 12-5-2017 at 07:35 PM

Won't miss it!

Wind_dog - 12-5-2017 at 07:39 PM

Blitz - I have a quiver of Peaks so you can try one if
I can try your new buggy . . . . . .

Blitzhound - 12-5-2017 at 08:09 PM

Rick: you can ride any of my buggy's. The Croozer, the Hardcore. Which ever one I'm not in you're welcome to. You're also welcome to any kite I'm not flying at the time haha. I gotta find some material for my number plates though. I gotta sport the NAPKA numbers. Any ideas?

eric67m - 13-5-2017 at 08:08 AM

John, were you able to make any headway on your AQR?

Bladerunner - 13-5-2017 at 09:11 AM

I am out.

All sorts of things make this one tough too attend.

Another year that having SOBB start the weekend before your long weekend ( our long weekend in Canada ) that I could have managed a couple of days. I sure do wish you all would consider the shift. Does it compete with WISKF if you do that or something?

Wind_dog - 13-5-2017 at 10:04 AM

K2 - Don't make me come up there and drag you down here.

Blitzhound - 13-5-2017 at 10:38 AM

Hey Eric. I have not. I think I have a plan. But I have yet to execute said plan. Hoping to have it worked out before SOBB. Are you going to make it to SOBB?
Sand flea: you can't expect a guy to show up in the same old ride every year.

eric67m - 13-5-2017 at 12:08 PM

I plan on coming down on Saturday and come home on Thursday.

I cannot wait.

sand flea - 13-5-2017 at 01:50 PM

How's the approach this year?

ColinW - 13-5-2017 at 03:27 PM

Trying my very best to make this happen!
It has been insane here at home since IBX, and I need a break.
Joey will be in school:sniff:
Roberta has agreed to come tho;)
Don't know dates or accommodation or anything yet, but I've got tons of time to figure out the details:lol:
Too many lonely kites and buggies at home to miss SOBB, so save me some beach.

Nice. She'll be the sexiest ride on the beach. No doubt.:thumbup:

Blitzhound - 15-5-2017 at 08:52 AM

Would there be any issues with showing up to buggy camp Friday evening?

Morrie Williams - 15-5-2017 at 09:15 AM

None at all. We'll be setting up camp earlier in the day.

I'm almost completely healed* and definitely planning to be there. :D

*A couple of weeks ago a few of us got together on sunset beach. The wind had picked up and I was putting away a kite to put up a smaller one. Wind_dog offered to help me land the kite but I didn't want to trouble him (big mistake) and ended up getting it tangled. While I was untangling it, a lookee-loo ran over the lines and they somehow got hooked on his car. I nearly got the end of my left middle finger torn off. Fortunately there were some good friends there and Sand flea drove me to the hospital in Seaside--with an escort from Sunset_jim's bright red Mustang! I was sure the end of my finger was lopped off but it wasn't that bad. Seven stitches later and we were back on the beach joking about it; for example, giving someone the finger could have been an issue with "Stubby". :-)

eric67m - 16-5-2017 at 05:36 PM

Kitebit, What a crazy mishap. I do hope that you are up and fully functional soon.

Blitzhound - 16-5-2017 at 10:37 PM

Patrick...just put some duct tape on that finger. You'll be fine. You need to be there. We got kites to fly. Buggies to ride. Beer to drink and lies to tell. None of which would be the same without you.

Blitzhound - 18-5-2017 at 05:22 AM

Is it SOBB time yet? I'm getting anxious!

eric67m - 18-5-2017 at 11:15 AM

I'm slowly getting ready.

Every time I go down the stairs I carry some kites or some camping gear...

sand flea - 18-5-2017 at 04:12 PM

We have awesome low tides for the week too!

All the entrances to the beach are in excellent shape except Ft. Stevens, it never is.
So we can have a those beautiful drives on the beach, no problem.

Buggy camp looks well mowed and ready for us. Eli said he would get the big tents set up this week.

So stoked!!!

Morrie Williams - 25-5-2017 at 10:35 AM

I should be at buggy camp 4ish on Friday.

eric67m - 25-5-2017 at 12:08 PM

Leaving before dawn. Hoping to stop by the beach around/before noon. Leaving Thursday around noon.

Blitzhound - 26-5-2017 at 05:53 AM

I should be at buggy camp late This evening. Around 8-9, bringing the whole fam dam. If someone wants to mark out where to park the Trailer? That would be awesome.

kiteboyza - 1-6-2017 at 04:08 PM

SOBB 2017

Patrick looking good!

sand flea - 4-6-2017 at 01:51 PM

Beautiful video, perfect music and Sunset at it's best!!!

Thank to all that attended, it was an epic gathering.

KiteBit - 5-6-2017 at 10:05 AM

Great video, Dieter! Thank you! Is that you playing the guitar?

That was from Friday the day before SOBB officially started. Dieter and I caught both tides that day.

Best day ever. :D

I had to leave the following Friday after getting body-slammed on the beach while landing my kite on Wednesday. Rookie move. :(
The wind was gusty that day. It was the same day Colin had a problem. (Hope you're feeling ok Colin!)

ColinW - 5-6-2017 at 03:06 PM

Yes, I'm on the mend.
Ribs are still sore, but no major damage done, and feeling better every day.
Already trying to figure out when I can make it back.
Maybe I should have listened to Rick and tried out his depower Peaks, but I still like the handles...Shoulda sized down though.:embarrased:
Another newb learning the ropes; need more seat time and probably some quick release hardware.
Guess I got away light all things considered.
I live to kite another day!
colin

p.s. Yes, nice video Dieter!
