After striking out trying to purchase a 3.5 Rage, several suggested I take a look at the PKD 3.3 Soulfly. They also said that Jeff, AKA "Bigkid", was
the guy to see. Jeff hooked me up with a great deal on the 3.3 and had it to me in a flash. Beautiful kite that is well constructed and comes with
handles and lines.
I finally had good wind today to get out for a nice long flying session. The kite flys beautifully. It also pulls nice and strong. Like many newbies
(to quad lines, at least), I wondered if the 3.3 would be enough. Today I learned that it's plenty.
I did have one "oh sh*t" moment. Toward the end of my session, the wind started to pick up just a bit. As I was flying, a gust came out of nowhere and
up, up, and away I went. Not sure how high, but I covered quite a bit of ground before I landed. Had a bit of a hard landing, but both me and the kite
stayed up. Ouch! Lesson learned, when in doubt, let the kite killers do their job.
Consider me a happy customer!
