Amtrak limits to 3ftx 3ftx3ft boxes of 50lbs or less. Its mentions no odd shaped boxes. Pallets of 500 lbs or less are an option. And Amtrak can ship

Grayhound, Trailways, South Eastern Stages, and all bus lines interconnect to get your shipments to their destinations. Charges are reasonable.
Just package them well and over insure them!
Also be at the station when your shipment arrives.
Security at smaller stations is not great. Bigger stations have secure fright areas.
They don't want the dead bodies walking out.:o
