Re: Hardwater Kiting Global Speed Ranking '17 Week 4 Results. 69.14 mph!

Feyd - 1-2-2017 at 06:53 AM

Week 4 results are up! Guy Lebrun of Quebec is back in action and fell just short of the 70mph mark. Canada dominates the ranking at the moment as they took all 3 top spots for week 4. :D

This week we had our youngest participant at age 12.

Winner of the this weeS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s T-Shirt was Paul Morse of Maine.

I had terrible conditions and no time this last week to really get going  I left work early on Friday, put my boots on, grabbed a kite, and spent 20 minutes on the lake just so I had something to submit. It really is an addiction :D:thumbup:

Hey! You still got a good speed and got it in! We were psyched to see it.

Yes it can be frustrating chasing the right conditions. Majority of us have to make a paycheck to fuel our habit. Some just have better luck than others. Happy you got out:D

It's blowing 20mph today from an ideal direction, watch out Rob  Actually we'll see what happens. I don't have the right skis for the conditions, and the lake is crisscrossed by frozen tire tracks just waiting to destroy my knees so I may chicken out early. Still hoping for a 40mph run though :D

Won't take much to beat me this week. Plenty of soft snow on the lakes right now. Been using my powder skis lately. Too much drag, not enough wind.

It was blowing 20mph when I left work, by the time I made it to the lake it was under 10 lol. The snow was definitely soft and draggy. I used the Volkl P40's again and I think I would've been faster on my powder boards (4frnt Hoji) as the P40's were sinking quite a bit. On the other hand, I'm still edging down to the ice, and the Hoji's are full rocker and may have been sliding around too much. Need another couple inches to make the transition!

I may have you on speed by a couple mph, but holy crap I don't think I could go as far as you to save my life. 10 miles requires some rest stops for my legs, you're banging out 25 no problem. I still want to do the Stampede, but they might have to haul my body off the lake on a stretcher lol
