I am thinking about getting Flysurfer P3 for my snowkiting and kiteboarding. Is it water relaunchable? How easy is it? I've never seen anybody
flying closed cell on water in my area and wonder how Flysurfer P3 does on water. - Brian

Ok, keep us posted. I would like to get Flysurfer P3 for water but as a beginner, my concern is what if it is hard to do water-relaunch or what if
water gets in the kite. If it is super easy to relaunch and water-proof(?) then I might get one but if it is for an expert then I might get an LEI.

If it's like any other flysurfer - it's the easiest thing in the world to relaunch...
If it's upside down just give the rear lines a good old yank and hey presto it'll turn over, if its front ways up just give the center lines a pull
and it'll go up, if its managed to fold itself (which it shouldn't in the kind of wind needed for kite surfing) then just yanking the lines around
usually sorts it out...
The only problem there can be is with waves but crashing most kites in waves is going to cause problems! :duh: Also if you leave it too long in the
water the air will start to drain from it and then you might have a problem.
One of the best things about flysurfers is there EXTREMELY easy water relaunchability.

Never pull against a foil when it's face down in the water. Or as I did stand up and hold it against the flow of the tide. It will scoop up water and
make relaunch difficult if not impossible. Float with it and flip it ASAP. Once flying it will dump water fast.

I've been on a Psycho3 13m and Pulse10m since October.
the p3 is more difficult to reverse relaunch than other FS kites.... gotta reach way up the leaders to get it to fly backwards. aside from that, i
think its the best kite FS has produced. The pulse is the opposite. it is as easy to relaunch as the Titan. just pull on 1 line and over it turns.
always power-up the kite when hot-launching in the middle of the powerzone, it slows down the kite and gives you time to push it to the side window.

Thanks for the info regarding P3. Mmm~ I heard so many good things about P3 and wanted to have one but I don't think I am ready for P3 on water yet.
I just had my first water session and even with LEI, I had hard time to water-relaunch. Maybe I should practice more and get P3 later this fall. -

It takes a little bit to learn the best way to relaunch each type of kite. Some relaunch easier than others. Check www.kiteforum.com as many threads have been written about relaunching the Rebel. Once you get the hang of it, it will be no problem. Don't bail on
your kites yet. Wade

I recently change my quiver from ozone access and frenzy to FS Pulse.
I much prefer these kites for few reasons:
closed cells keep their air better, thus less backstall when turning or low wind
5th line on pulse and psycho3 is top safety. I had to use twice, works great.
Huge depower. Also like more the trimmer with straps instead of the ozone one.
I have tried the psycho3, and the kite is more nervous than the pulse, more reactive, thus requires more kiting experience.
The pulse is easy to relaunch, easy to reverse (much more than a frenzy or access), simply pull one rear line and turns on a dime
The pulse really absorbs gusts smoothly, very stable
As with only 1 year of snowkiting, I feel the Pulse perfect for me, as it gives the power, stability and safety I want
I have not yet used on water, but this is one reason I bought them, is not to have 2 sets of kites. I will this summer.
I was told with enough wind, they keep their air long time when sitting on the water. which I have experienced on the snow.
