Looking for a kite that compliments a 13.5m Leopard well.
I'm stuck between a 9m Frenzy (2011) or 11m (2013) Frenzy. This 2nd kite will be mainly used for moderate-high winds, (15-25knots). I do want it to
have moderate lift for getting air. This will be a two kite quiver. I am 12 stone to give an idea of weight.
From what I could see, the 9m will probably do me better. But ironically, it is more expensive by $150 than the 11m. The condition it's in isn't as
good as the 11m. It has fraying depower lines, (those shouldn't run too much to replace though). But the kite itself is in great condition. Not too
sure of any significant changes from the 2011 to 2013 models for Frenzies.
Any input would be appreciated! D Cheek - 3-5-2017 at 08:28 PM
How much does a "stone" weigh? in pounds?IFlyKites - 3-5-2017 at 09:13 PM
Leopard kind of seems like PLs version of the frenzy so my guess is the 11m will offer way too much overlap. Go 9m for sure. I'm 10 stone(ish) and
my 10m is my most commonly flown kite and then my 6 and I probably have equal hours on my 4.5 and 14m. I think, at your weight, ideal wind conditions
will present when the 9m is ideal. Jumping in lower winds on a 13-14m kite can be a lot of fun but 9-10m foils are super popular for a reason.-mj- - 8-6-2017 at 06:50 AM
Yup, B-roc is right. the Leopard does compare to the Frenzy.
And yes, 9m would be the better choice as 11 has too much overlap.
Go for the 9m Leopard though, skip that ozone heheheIFlyKites - 8-6-2017 at 10:01 AM
