Peter Lynn makes some nice strops from the same material. Last I checked they were available in lengths from 35 cm (short, about 13") to 55 cm (longish, about 22"). Ask any Peter Lynn Dealer. I have some left but mostly 35 cm and one 55 cm.

I too make my own from the Sampson Spectra line. I have several PL strops. They are nice. But for the same price as one PL strop I can make 4-5 of my own.

Carabiners and 50lb para cord worked for me.
Tied off on the beaner and cotterized the end and tied off on the other end with some slack so I can adjust the length as needed.
I use a red cord so I can see it easier to hook into my AQR. If using a hook I can adjust the length shorter.

As with all my kites, each has a set of handles and line set and now a strop in every bag.
A cheap addition to keep it simple rather than searching your gear for one.

Thaaaat's the stuff... I couldn't think of the name when I wrote the first post. I kept wanting to call it Blue Steel. But I knew it wasn't right. Blue Steel was a PolyDacron line. Blue Amsteel is what I use to make my strops. I splice an eye and lock stitch it with Dyneema sailors twine. Works perfect.
