Things that bug me....

JimSSI - 4-7-2017 at 12:29 AM

I don't know if it's the dental surgery or general grumpiness, but I thought a 'let's vent' topic would be cathartic.

1. They are fixed bridle kites, not bridal. 'Fixed bridal' sounds like either an arranged marriage, or a shotgun wedding....

2. ?

3 .Dog owners who think it ok to let their dogs pee on my kite

I don't send my kids round to their house to pee on their television :D

4) when there is wind I have no time and when I have time there is no wind.

5) When Wyatt Earp the Lawn Sheriff tells me to my face that I can't kite skate on a public field (with 200 x 50 mm inflated wheels of doom tires on) at the exact moment that three kids are biking across the field on mountain bikes that he pays no mind too.

6) When my bride insists that I stop kite skating and snow kiting just because I get yanked 40 feet into the air and then slammed into the ground and bash my head in. Wait a tick, that's actually a good reason. Damn.

7. That I have to refer to my precision engineered, carefully maintained, Mach-1-capable, beach racing rocket (which cost more than my first car) as a......"buggy"

Shouldn't it be "Fixed bridled kite" as it has more than one bridle?? ;) I thought a bridle was a single span of rope supported at each end.

8. "To" is a preposition used in conjunction with with a destination or activity: I'm going TO the store. He went TO play... conversely "Too" is an adverb meaning "also" or "in excess of": I want that TOO. It is TOO much.

9. It's spelled "definitely" not "definately"

Just 2 pet peeves of mine

Blitzhound - 4-7-2017 at 07:59 AM

1. I absolutely loathe Grammer Police. "Go justify your Education somewhere else."

2. When I have my buggy on the back of my truck and people approach me at the most inappropriate times asking..."what is that thing?"

Randy - 4-7-2017 at 08:05 AM

Yeah - word crimes very annoying....

soliver - 4-7-2017 at 08:22 AM

Not intended to offend, or be the grammar police... identifying with of the original posters annoyance with the misuse of "bridle" and "bridal," I find annoyance in the misiuse of "to" and "too"... by appearances the topic posed is things that bug me... that is something that bugs me.

I'm sorry if that bothers you, I did not intend it to do so. If I were policing the forum and correcting grammar, I agree that would loathesome.

Awesome vid Randy... loved it.

Randy - 4-7-2017 at 08:35 AM

Thanks. May be the only music vid ever about grammer.

Blitzhound - 4-7-2017 at 10:47 AM

Soliver...no offense takin or intended here. It was meant in jest. In the spirit of the thread. But...grammer police do annoy me. Haha. Happy Independence Day!

Thanks bud... just wanted to be certain there was no frustration! Nothing more annoying than when being corrected on incidental stuff.

Happy 4th to you to!.. or ... to you too! I mean

I have yet to learn how to convey sarcasm in text. I often tell people. "You can't offend me. I'd have to care to be offended."

Just 2?
It's obvious that your daughters aren't old enough to be included into your pet peeve's. In fact they're not even dating are they? :ninja:
As for the spelling issue, my name starts with a J, not an A and ending with an E.
things could be so much worse.

adambweird - 4-7-2017 at 02:53 PM
