Issacpower - 8-11-2017 at 08:54 PM

Hello, Power Kite forum thanks for the add it's great to be here.

As in the title above its my brothers birthday coming up in a few weeks and I'm wanting to get him something to do with his new found hobby, Kiteboarding. About 7 months ago he went a bought his first kiteboard and ever since every chance he gets to go out boarding he out so I would love to base his birthday present around this. I never got into kiteboarding myself so I don't really know much about it and was hoping you guys would point me in the right direction of a great gift.

He will be turning 17 years old so what are my options? all suggestions and ideas are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry about the picture! how do I change it or make it smaller? I'm pretty new to forums

if you don't want to spend too much, you could get him a nice golfball kite steak.

Also, winter is coming up. Maybe some cold weather gear like a pair of fleece long johns, or maybe just the bottoms.

What exactly is his skill level (if you know), and what discipline does he engage in? Is this water kiteboarding in an ocean/flat water? Boarding with a landboard? We'll need some details to get something specific here, but yes, a kite stake is generally welcome. If what he has is only what's in the picture, as a fellow landboarder, I'd recommend one of the following (in ascending price order):

a kite stake ($10-30)

a wind meter ($15-60)

hillbilly butt pads (60ish)

a harness ($80-300)

a bigger kite, if he's ready for it ($200-1000)
