Posting message with special characters ( the post formerly known as "2nd try at Dural AU4G tubing question.")

FlyBoyBC - 20-11-2017 at 06:45 PM

Hey! That one finally worked I managed to include the words "Dural AU4G tubing"!!

Let me see if I can get my question posted!

FINALLY after posting editing posting and editing over and over again I found the problem. My post included a copyright symbol and would NOT post until I had removed it. I am going to start this thread ALL over again so the moderators can delete the last two.

HEY GUYS!! Fix is so when a character hangs the script it notifies the poster which character caused the hang! It took two days and about three hours of labor for me to diagnose the issue!

It is a known issue and was discussed recently because it bit someone else a day or two ago. We got them sorted out, because he sent me a U2U/private message.

If you are having problems, the best thing to do it to start a NEW thread asking for help. At the thread level, I can only see the title for the first post in the thread, so I didn't catch your problem until things had slowed down for the day for me.

Sending me a private (U2U) message also works.

The other problem is that Spammers also post threads with titles and no body text, so originally I was trying to identify if you fell into that category. If you had been posted from one of the two countries that post more spam to this forum than any other, you would have been bounced so fast there would have been vapor trails.

I just am just the bottle washer here and just deal with day to day stuff. Bob (PKF) is the owner/big cheese of the forum. I will mention it to him again, but pretty sure he knows about it and like everyone else he has a day job and raccoon dogs to feed.

I believe the solution is bigger than a bread box, and is exacerbated by the fact that the forum runs on customized software.

Sorry your first post had to be such a flustercluck. Will see what we can do about ratcheting up the octane and see if we can start cooking with some real gasoline.

Sam
