Last year I did not have chance to ride as much as did in previous years so promise my self that this year will be full of kiting adventures again .
I am so happy that we got that snowstorm and freezing temps that created this awesome playground on Shrewsbury River.
Going back to kiting is one thing but I also decided to start making some videos again and below is my first creation of this year !.
My drone was unused for almost a year and I did have lots of difficulties to get going with it again . 2 crashes, 2 broken propellers and camera
mount was a cost of this video. I need to start practicing again .
I hope you will like it ....
Using Flysurfer SonicFR 11m
Drone : Yuneec Q500 4K

Wow that is some video! Really looks like it could be the trailer for
a movie it is so well done. B-Roc - 12-1-2018 at 07:24 AM

I second Randy's emotion! Three thumbs up!!!
Drones have transformed the personal sports video scene, that's for sure. Truly captured the majesty of the whole event.
I'm happy for you Easterners getting spanked like you have to set up conditions like to allow for these sorts of sessions. I just got off the phone
with somebody in Tarrytown NY who says it is in the 50s and raining today so maybe your window has already started to pass. Let's hope not!
If you were to be able to make hardwater snowkiting a regular thing I might suggest that you invest in some DH or SG skis. They are long, skinny,
stiff, cambered, and have a long turning radius. The short twin tips you had on in this video likely are challenging for getting a good edge set on
the ice and tracking a straight tack line. In deeper soft snow this is less important, but for "hardwater" the DH and SG racing skis rein supreme.skimtwashington - 12-1-2018 at 01:23 PM
Yup.
This is the video stuff I was requesting to see....and glad you're getting some.
Good to see while I wait for warm spell(rain) to retreat and good riding conditions. Meltdown back to pure ice...?..skates for skis..?
Does the drone have a system to follow you on AUTO...?

Very nice video -
Was the drone using some kind of "follow me mode" or was someone else controlling it?

Thank you guys !!! Positive feedback always encourage me to make next video ... Maybe I will start working on material that I have from Tug Hill,
Skyline , OBX and WBB ..... lol
About filming with a drone
I am wearing secondary remote that also can be used as a tracker by a drone. I can fully control a drone, but range is limited and batteries are
draining fast. You can see on video when I am changing angled ( remote is strapped to my wrist ) , but also I was trying to keep it in an air since
there was something wrong with batteries and drone continuously is trying to land. I was forcing it in an air for about 15 min ...lol and that is why
I crashed twice. I discharge batteries completely and charge them again at home and it looks like is working properly again .
Below is my favorite video that I did with mini remote and watch me function and no crushes !!! If you look carefully you will see that this is a
big achievement with all those surrounding obstacles ......
About my skis .....
I am actually a snowboarder and decided to do mostly skis this year to get more knowledge about differences between those two when kiting . Set that
I am using on video was purchased for a specific purpose. Jumping and freestyling with a kite and learning new tricks on a slops . I do own set of old
straight skis for speed and ice and also a snowboard with switchblade . In last 4 years sadly this is first time we are getting anything frozen
around here ..... and in few days it will be gone !!!!
