I do not typically post about my personal life on the Forum, but I feel compelled to post this.
I recently lost my mother to cancer. It was a long battle that she fought, and she fought it like a true warrior. I was her primary caretaker. I was
with her 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the last 4 months of her fight.
Having heard the news of her passing, a member of PKF reached out to me, and did something incredible for me and hopes of lifting my spirits in this
time. I will let them remain anonymous, as well as what they did for me. All I will say is that it was completely selfless and going entirely above
and beyond anything somebody could ask for in a time like this.
As long as I have been a member of this forum I call the people on it my kite family, as have several others here. Its unreal how true that term is.
You know who you are, you know what you did. Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Words cannot express my gratitude, I will pay it
forward when the time comes.
You guys are the best family anyone could ask for.

Scott - I am so terribly sorry to learn of your mother passing that way. You are an outstanding man for standing by her as you did. Quite a son. Now I
want you to come out to IBX even more. The Western tribe will greet you with open arms.

@Shehatesmyhobbies - Thank you brother, and yes this group is an amazing bunch.
@Windstruck - Not too sure I am going to be able to make IBX. I know it's an amazing event full of great people but Making 2 events this year is
stretching quite a bit.

Sorry for your loss.
My Mother almost passed at Christmas but has made an amazing come back. I am visiting her in Calgary right now and counting every moment we share as
precious extra time.
All my Brothers out there who still have Mothers send them your Love !
I think I am trading my IBX vacation time for this visit and am just thrilled I can!

Scott, I feel your pain brother. It IS a fantastic feeling when you're at what feels like the ultimate lowest point in life after a loss like that, to
have an angel present you with what feels like a gift from God. I can tell from your posting that it lifted you and probably floored you at the same
time. LOL!
You're right! The kiting community has always been a great place to make friends and vent. Vent about anything on this planet and there's always that
ONE guy or gal that responds with that posting that not only puts a smile on your face but makes you laugh. One big family!
Wow!
This one hit home for me. I lost mom Sept. 9th 2010 @5:25 p.m. from ,of all things , cancer. Colon cancer is a very scary thing. No warning, just BAM!
Gone. Still get tears just writing this.
I've been roaming around blind for a while and have slowly but surely been coming around back to kiting.
Funny how something as simple as wind can put a smile on your face. A kite in the air? Icing on the cake!
Phew....just writing this felt good.

A mother is a special thing and your memories of her will last all the rest of your days.
She has given up her physical body but her spirit will always be watching over you.
You were an a loving son and your care for her was a true act of love.
I'm sorry for your loss.
What you now need is a large dose of KBT! Get your mind off the past and clear your head.
A good long park and ride should do it
See you at JIBE. Got a big hug waiting for you!
