Breach the beach within reach

skimtwashington - 25-2-2018 at 11:44 AM

Very local ice season is over ..... So over to restart the beach season...

Me on rollerblades...and couple kiters in buggys..
...wind varied from low to moderate

Blitzhound - 25-2-2018 at 01:12 PM

Gotta love it when a plan comes together! Looks like a great time guys!

Gravityguy - 25-2-2018 at 01:29 PM

Turned out to be a pretty good day and decent temperatures, low 50s. Although I consider any day out with a kite a good day to me. Wish I could of stuck around longer.
Blitz - You know that venom. I love that kite and finally look like I might know what I am doing launching and landing. I wish I had the 16 with me. I would of liked to see if I could of gotten it going.

Glx - 25-2-2018 at 01:43 PM

It was an awesome day, still aching from yesterday. 15 miles all in and broke my speed record. 30.3 mph, not enough nerve to go faster even though the 8m century could have gone up to get a few more mph's out of it.

Windstruck - 25-2-2018 at 01:58 PM

Great session guys! Nice to see some early season pics. Never too early.

B-Roc - 25-2-2018 at 02:37 PM

Bri and all, glad to see you getting out. Do we want to go back to using the email list to let others know when sessions are occurring or are you getting out all the time now? I don't mind riding alone but would put more effort into heading back there to ride with others if I knew they were out. What's the parking lot situation currently - open only at the rotary or is access to the parking lot wide open from the Tides on down?

Randy - 25-2-2018 at 06:42 PM

So do you use rollerblades on the beach?

Glx - 25-2-2018 at 07:12 PM

B-roc, if there is an email list that goes out i think that woukd be a good thing. I always like it better when I find someone else at the beach.
The whole parking lot has been open all winter from tides restaurant to the rotary.

RedSky - 25-2-2018 at 08:55 PM

Well that ended abruptly. :D
The rear of that bug had some handy space for gear tho. Please post more videos guys. I enjoy them all.

skimtwashington - 26-2-2018 at 09:46 AM

I use either Coyote rollerblades on beach or regular rollerblades in the parking lot along beach..up to a mile long.

On that day I used regular rollerblades in the lot with a 3.5m NPW on 20-25 ft lines.... winds averaging in mid teens.

I have not sat in one of my own buggies in a Long while. ........I like using my legs and sometimes feels alot like ski/slalom action!

Bri, the old group e-mail is dead ( i tried it) so need a new set up dedicated site or you will have to start posting in 'meet ups' here on PKF...

My camera battery died before I got warmed up... so all I got. I'm no Conrad! If only he would visit Nahant to make a great film to capture the feel of here.

Well, I guess that explains why it's been dead for so long. Does anyone here remember who set up / owned that service? The address I had is Nepowerkites@lists.funonastick.com

All's I ever did was send an email to that address and it told everyone that a session was on.

Gravityguy - 26-2-2018 at 06:13 PM

Email list would be nice. it is always nice to be out with other people(and have a nudge to get out).

I'll do a little research and see how we could set something up if we can't resurrect what you all had been using.

Blitzhound - 27-2-2018 at 02:40 AM

GravityGuy: That is great to see her in the air. I do miss that kite. I set my PB with that kite almost two years ago. Still have not broken it. The ground work is the most important. Once in the air she will take care of you.

Glx - 16-3-2018 at 06:58 PM

One more franken video from my cam as well as skimtwashington video. Two days of riding at Nahant

Kober - 17-3-2018 at 11:11 AM

nice buggy .... lol ....

shehatesmyhobbies - 17-3-2018 at 11:21 AM

Good stuff Genci, look forward to sharing the beach with you in a few weeks.

Brian, get your gear shined up, get your tail back to WBB, we miss you!

Glx - 17-3-2018 at 11:42 AM

Thanks Rich. Already got the jitters. Another 3.5 weeks for me till I get there on thursday.

Gravityguy - 24-3-2018 at 10:49 AM

GLX or Ski - I am looking to get out tomorrow before a couple of grueling weeks at work. I am thinking Nahant probably will be less than ideal with wind from the NE. Maybe something at low tide? Any other recommendations for NE wind that could be a better option.

skimtwashington - 24-3-2018 at 12:09 PM

Nahant your best bet.

...mid bath house to restaurant curve is closest to NE or more on-shore direction of shoreline...then the rest is mostly full East and 45 degrees off...so just tack and then downwinder... and repeat!
Beach suffered last week from storms(got pebble exposed from sand loss, and..... also had red tide wash up also:(.

....also the parking lot had lots of thick sand wash up down at wide end- leaving a mess where I ride inlines w/ kites... hindering riding untill removed forcefully or naturally. Got to examine closer.

A lot can change in a week, or a day even.

Weather looks cold and raw..wet early...? single skin kind of weather:smug:..

Glx - 24-3-2018 at 12:15 PM

Not sure on any other places. Went out today and it was a waste of time very low wind 3-6 mph and from the n, nw. Only was able to run for about 2.5 miles, with a barely flying 8m fb, from the water to the dunnes until the wind died out completly. As always, when everything was packed up and loaded in the car, the wind picked up a little.
Will be heading out there again tomorrow if there is more wind even if the direction is n, nw again.

skimtwashington - 24-3-2018 at 12:40 PM

That's the spirit.

Any red tide?...pebbled areas still?

Was parking lot open? if open: was sand still all over parking lot down at wide part.?

Glx - 24-3-2018 at 01:37 PM

Tide and hard pack were very good. All the mess from the storms had been erased. Parking lot is still closed so did not get to see in what condition it is.

Gravityguy - 24-3-2018 at 04:00 PM

Thank for the reports. I plan to arrive around 11a with low tide at 12:30. Wind mid teens gusting to mid 20s all day. Hope that stays!

cheezycheese - 24-3-2018 at 05:40 PM

You never know... might see a New Yawker on da beach tmw. Just sayin...

Glx - 24-3-2018 at 07:10 PM

Hugh. That would be awesome if cheesy shows up too. A New Yawker in boston is a wicked pissah.

skimtwashington - 25-3-2018 at 12:59 PM

skimtwashington - 25-3-2018 at 03:09 PM

wind was strong 20+ mph ... with gusts 30 + mph .....

cheezycheese - 27-3-2018 at 06:15 AM

Did any of you catch the brief Cheezy sighting on the beach... :D lol... it was friggin cold out there. You guys are true wind warriors to be out there.

skimtwashington - 29-3-2018 at 09:29 AM

ON -SHORE WIND ALERT!!!

East winds now at Nahant and for afternoon..

Small window of opportunity..Winds will be low and rain coming, but a chance for delicious steady on shore...

Bring BIG kites!

skimtwashington - 29-3-2018 at 01:21 PM

RED TIDE ALERT!

Beach has red tide crap all over it.....I rode the one mile parking lot which is now closed to all cars!!

Little better than expected wind speed, but oh so smooth.

.... and good zippy street riding:D

Gravityguy - 29-3-2018 at 02:11 PM

Ski - good to hear you made it out. Red tide yikes!

skimtwashington - 31-3-2018 at 04:15 PM

Update:

Still red tide... and it's over most of beach:(.

But..... winds unexpectedly turned semi-on-shore..... and were untypically very strong and slightly gusty. Took some very fast runs on rollerblades in parking lot.

BTW...parking lot is back open.

Glx - 7-4-2018 at 05:41 PM

Nahant was awesome as usual. No red tide. Hard pack was good and the wind in the mid teens. The only problem was that wind was a little more gusty than usual so kept me on my toes the whole time.
Awesome day to buggy!

skimtwashington - 8-4-2018 at 10:06 AM

Which kite were you flying at Nahant yesterday?

Glx - 8-4-2018 at 10:39 AM

The flexifoil blurr 5m.
Today was even better than yesterday. At around 9:30, wind was NNE in the low teens. At around 11 turned to ENE and was in the high teens. Again flew the flexi blurr 5m the whole time (a few times very overpowered). Had some awesome full length of the beach runs and managed to get some good speed runs. Got to 39.9 mph (will post latter on the PB thread) and than ran out of beach so had to stop quickly before getting into the rocks at tides restaurant.
At around noon the wind started tapering off, so packed up and called it a day.

skimtwashington - 8-4-2018 at 11:45 AM

Good job advancing your PB for speed.

Nice catching an on-shore to help you out with that too.

Gravityguy - 8-4-2018 at 12:51 PM

Sounds like a better day today! You were absolutely right yesterday, I should of put up the 10 instead of the 8. Had some fun though in some strange wind with the new 8.

Glx - 8-4-2018 at 01:35 PM

It was good seeing you at the beach yesterday gravityguy.
Yeah that wind was all over the place yesterday, up-down-gusty, better on one side of the beach house and then better on the other side. That was the weirdest thing about it.
:D I know how that is with a new kite, have done it a few times myself, putting up a 3m kite in 6mph winds just because I had to try it.

skimtwashington - 13-4-2018 at 05:18 AM

You missed some delicious on- shore wind here yesterday... but hope you had some at WBB.
:bouncy::bouncy:

Glx - 13-4-2018 at 03:10 PM

Thanks Ski. Hopefully there is some of that wind left for Monday when I come back. On the other hand Wildwood has been absolutely awesome these couple of days.

skimtwashington - 14-4-2018 at 02:33 PM

today... winds were not fully on shore.

jeffnyc - 14-4-2018 at 06:50 PM

Just got back from close to your neck of the woods (and of course Glx is over on this side...how did that work out?). Was in Worcester last 2 days, but whirlwind college visit, no time to go the extra hour to Nahant. Wind looked good, even inland. Looks like you had a good day, ski!

B-Roc - 15-4-2018 at 10:49 AM

Quote: Originally posted by jeffnyc

That's been the story of my life the past year. When the kids were younger it was soccer games that kept me from getting to the beach and now that they are older its college visits and those are taking way more time than soccer ever did on weekends. I really miss the days I went to Nahant every other weekend.

skimtwashington - 15-4-2018 at 01:38 PM

Sorry to sidetrack, but I guess I need someone like Indigo Wolf's computer expertise..

... my youtube screen is suddenly all black on here(PKF) and won't play now- in my Microsoft Edge browser. I can play youtube videos on youtube's site only after refreshing. It starts out the same, though-all black and unplayable until I refresh..

Little help how to fix?

Guess I'm using my 'Chrome browser for video 'till Microsoft Edge is fixed.

Thanks in advance.

(PS: added another video above)

skimtwashington - 16-4-2018 at 11:41 AM

My tech issue resolved itself:smilegrin:.....Who knows?..... Thanks anyway.

:wee:

jeffnyc - 16-4-2018 at 11:49 AM

Glx - 16-4-2018 at 01:30 PM

Jeff, next time you come over this way we definitely need to ride.
Ski, who was that riding on Sunday? I was hopping to make it out today but all this rain did not help. If the weather cooperates will probably be out early morning either Sat or Sun before low tide.

jeffnyc - 16-4-2018 at 01:54 PM

Yeah, definitely. Haven't been there in ages. Sailed in a World Cup in Marblehead a long time ago, loved that area, very old New England. I remember the wind being strong and steady, we were tacking on 5 degrees. Nahant looks like a great beach to land board/bug.

skimtwashington - 16-4-2018 at 03:35 PM

I rebooted several times and nothing...It just started working again as mysteriously as it had stopped. All's good.

The person in video is Peter- a long time Nahant kite buggier. Another Lynn citizen and close to the beach, as I am.

Nahant is a Mini-Mecca( mini because the beach is only a 1.4 miles at best, if East winds. Mecca because it is a mile long sliver sticking into a bay). East and west winds both work to get you up and down the beach...unlike most beaches with one shore. You double your good wind opportunities. Wider hardpack than WBB's beach as a comparison. Lots of kite surfing going on too.

Very lucky to live near this.

Lynn, Lynn.... City of sin, But o'm'gosh, beach next door for kiting the wind!!

Glx - 23-4-2018 at 07:31 PM

Sat was an OK day. Morning had stiff winds from WNW. Got a few nice and fast runs in the mid to high 30's from North of the beach house to the Tides rocks. Most of the hardpack was about as rippled as I have ever seen it with only a very narrow strip of flat surface, so I might have lost a couple of tooth fillings while running down the hardpack.

skimtwashington - 24-4-2018 at 09:16 AM

Was out in afternoon on weekend riding on the asphalt parking lot to 2nd bath house. Good wind...!

Red tide had showed up by Monday... was half cleared yesterday...

Yesterday had on-shore! More afternoon lot riding....

Get it while you can..

skimtwashington - 5-5-2018 at 04:45 PM

Up and down wind today. ...Shifty.... inconsistent, but great weather.

[img][/img]

Glx - 5-5-2018 at 04:58 PM

Looks like we must have just missed each other. Hit the beach at 6am and left by around 10:15. For most of the time had the beach to myself with only a few water guys out there. Good day about 31 miles in and a few times got into the high 30s. The wind was strong but very gusty which reduced the size of the kite significantly. Overall great day to buggy.

skimtwashington - 5-5-2018 at 05:06 PM

Wind got terrible after you left ...

....kites dropped out of sky at times with no wind and then ramped up to 20 mph at other times. Wind direction shifted at times too...

Should have been down earlier for sure... :(

Too foggy to kite..?

skimtwashington - 11-5-2018 at 08:48 AM

We had unusual thick fog roll in over two days this week at beach with on-shore winds. I thought it added a lot more risk -not so much for me -but for the public walking beach sand as visibility was less than a hundred feet at times.

So I stayed off sand with full-length line foils, and opted to go short line(20 ft. lines) with NPW in beach parking lot. Still, I rode mile long runs each way. I couldn't pass up premium on-shore winds.

Yup....I got options.

cheezycheese - 11-5-2018 at 01:09 PM

Will be out 5/25 to get my daughter. Early session possibilities...?

skimtwashington - 11-5-2018 at 04:41 PM

Low tide is at 3PM that day, Marc...:(

Only hope is for unusually cool, cloudy day to keep people away...
Always a chance...

skimtwashington - 14-5-2018 at 04:41 PM

Lower wind day but on-shore yesterday.

What a nice all terrain buggy.... and buggy bag. Also MADE(machined) his own AQR...:o.....Yup!

Glx - 14-5-2018 at 06:41 PM

Thanks Ski. Kind words and a very nice video. Cheesy trouble is its a Friday. Unfortunately, don't think I can skip work, if not i would be there.:(

skimtwashington - 19-5-2018 at 03:40 PM

Today:

On shore winds in lower/ mid teens...and steady. Unfortunate but some 'red tide' on beach. Not thick but spread out... but enough to dissuade me(I've been spoiled!).

I skipped the sand with my Coyote Rollerblades and rode the asphalt of the mile long parking lot.

..But I also spent some social time too and got some video of those 'buggin' through the scattered light muck...

Everyone had big fun:smilegrin:

Glx - 19-5-2018 at 07:04 PM

Awesome Ski, good to see there was a group of guys in there today. Unfortunately I could not make it as I was on my way back from Ohio. Tomorrow though will try to make it out there by about 8 am if the wind is as predicted.

skimtwashington - 23-5-2018 at 03:55 PM

Wait for it.. wait for it....There it is! On shore winds!:singing:

Today was a chance to ride in beautiful 70 degree weather before the holiday and crowds. Just enough bikinis:P....but not loaded with sunbathers. A big wide open hardpack lane just for me to ride my Coyote Rollerblades.

Wind was low and was dreading not bringing bigger kite(would have helped but still be slow). I was looping kite and eeking out some slow riding....,and then... wait for it... wait for it...wind picked up finally, into double digits.... and got into some better cruising speeds and even got some light jumping. :Ange09:

More on-shore tomorrow forecast + temps cooler means no crowd... and another opportunity.

Heat, holiday and crowds coming after that...:(

Friday Bueller...?

skimtwashington - 23-5-2018 at 06:10 PM

Beach will be crowded and not safe to ride:(

.. but maybe just hang. Hopefully a few others will hang out a little too.

skimtwashington - 24-5-2018 at 05:05 PM

Today was better than yesterday.

More on-shore wind, more wind speed, faster runs and more miles...

Felt like I was kiting on the moon, almost... there was almost no one there. That's because it was barely 60 degrees and that reason alone.

Temps and condition for me... nearly perfect. Grateful.

Wish I had pics to show. Oh welll..

Here comes the holiday crowds...crap!

Glx - 24-5-2018 at 05:25 PM

Saturday afternoon looks like it might be a repeat, even though overcast.
We will see hopefully some mid teen easterly winds and enough rain to keep the crowds away but no downpours.

skimtwashington - 24-5-2018 at 06:52 PM

Yup. On shores!
:o..clouds early means crowds leave early! I see only small chance of rain forecast 25%...fingers crossed.
Looks like that may all line up on Saturday!...

REMINDER or in case unfamiliar to summer rules:

*Don't ride if crowded on ANY part of beach. Wait until many or most leave. WE have agreement w/DCR. You may also on such days ride VERY early, then leave when crowd starts coming, (if lower tides allow).

* Don't ride from restaurant to last lifeguard stand(just past mid bathhouse) while lifeguards are still there in stands or still lots of people . Another agreement w/DCR.

*After lifeguards go home AND crowd mostly is gone, you then may ride to restaurant. ..(whole beach). So park outside this area too( park in section/entranceway 9, 10, 11...) to start kiting earlier in these sections(from mid bath house to Lynn rotary).. if thinning crowd then allows..

hope to see ya there..

cheezycheese - 24-5-2018 at 07:36 PM

Brian, check u2u

Gravityguy - 25-5-2018 at 08:14 PM

Sunday afternoon also looks promising if the rain mostly holds off. Temps in the 50s. I am going to keep my eye on it and hopefully make it out.

skimtwashington - 26-5-2018 at 02:11 AM

*** Also...one more Request to Nahant Riders:

Please....Do not go for your PB or Ultra-high speeds during the SUMMER SEASON. In other words...slow it down a bit.

Wait until the long OFF- SEASON for super fast speeds. It's one more consideration to the public and DCR Staff watching you.

Access to ride can be taken away from us at any time... Officially. Just one complaint may do it. It's happened here in past and for many others and their own beach locations.

Glx - 26-5-2018 at 03:37 AM

Thanks Ski.

Some common sense items and some items that would not have know unless was told.

We need to be as considerate as possible to not ruin this for everyone. Last weekend ran into a biologist talking in possessed tongues about pipping plovers and complied with her request to only ride on the pebbly part of the beach so as to not create any uneccessary complaints. Unfortunately thats what we need to do to not loose this lovely beach.

abkayak - 26-5-2018 at 04:34 AM

everyone is a ornithologist this time of year...
if the Audubon Society ever finds out about PKF...im sure we will become designated domestic terrorists
Plovers, Oyster Catchers, Terns or Pigions doesn't matter...when the self proclaimed defenders of all things w/ feathers shows up
you've got a big problem
if you want to kite and its a nice beach day...know its better to wait for the weather to turn bad, its better to maintain a low profile
Birders don't show up when its yucky and blowing 20+

skimtwashington - 26-5-2018 at 06:04 AM

Glx - 27-5-2018 at 07:31 AM

What an awesome day in Nahant today. Got there and was riding by 6 am left at around 9 am, with the incoming tide leaving no hard pack to run. All in 38.5 miles traveled. Onshore mid teens with some periods of time getting in the high teens low twentys. The beach was absolutely empty besides some guys kiting on the water.
What a marvelous beach for buggying!!

skimtwashington - 27-5-2018 at 09:23 AM

 Nice! Early bird catches the firm.

I knew it was strong on-shore winds but thought it might be little wet...

I was there 5:30 am yesterday waiting for wind to wake up with tide already coming in..... and waiting...people slowly arriving....and waiting..

Finally I lost hardpack .. waiting almost hour and a half, until WEST winds picked up enough.

Then just rode in wide end of parking lot w/ 6.5 NPW...for short while and left.

Wish I stopped down today to at least get pics/video, if not join you, perhaps.

Hey.. you might have another chance to ride late this afternoon if luck and weather cooperates..Even if some rain, beach will be empty.

Gravityguy - 27-5-2018 at 09:35 AM

GLX, I should of considered this morning. Glad you got out and had a blast.
I am planning on heading out this afternoon even though the chances for rain are higher now. Hopefully it will be light and clear the beach.

skimtwashington - 27-5-2018 at 10:09 AM

Glx - 27-5-2018 at 10:43 AM

Ski, Yesterday went there around noon riding the bicycles with the kids and it was like a zoo. Parking lot full to the point that they were closing it periodically.
Gravityguy, I would have joined you this afternoon but got a party to go to for the afternoon and evening.
Wind forcast for tomorrow early AM looks like it might work but will wake up, check whats happening with wind and then decide to head out or not, of course if I am not too badly hurting from tonight.

skimtwashington - 27-5-2018 at 04:20 PM

The beach was EMPTY...'cept Gravityguy

Glx - 28-5-2018 at 03:22 AM

Nice. Looks like you were able to get some good runs.

Windstruck - 28-5-2018 at 05:15 AM

Nice stretch of beach to get your roll on. I saw you were sharing the wind with three kite boarders too. Water looked c-o-l-d.

skimtwashington - 28-5-2018 at 09:09 AM

Yes, a nice little stretch.

No one goes in the water here without wetsuits to Kitesurf.

Lucky to have this 'backyard' area and grateful. Only a mile to 1.4 long-depending on wind direction, but double the opportunity of other beaches not located on a spit.

The parking lot is a mile long also, to provide short line riding(single skin preferable) in good wind (and good wind direction) when it is high tide in off season or cool days during season when most people stay home.

In fact, there's so many more opportunities for the latter that I'm riding lot more in lot than sand. Good thing it's not hot year round here so beach gets empty.

But I 'glow' much more from experiences on sand. Still residuals from Thursdays outing on sand.:)

couple shots from yesterday:

Gravityguy - 28-5-2018 at 08:38 PM

Yesterday was a blast. 25 miles done, empty beach. Ski-thanks for the shots. I thought that had to be you.
A couple other thoughts from the session...
- it was the first time out under the SARC 460. Great kite. Lots of power in that wind. Strong power. I found the depower adaquit could of been more but I blame that on the bar.(more on that below). Auto zenith, kite raced to 12 than slid down the right edge of the window(see lines below) also this kite flies high at 12. Virtually straight overhead.
- bar - I need to replace this bar or at least the depower line. The bar has a circular straight hole for the depower line which allows it to bind at times. Perhaps I wil just replace the depower line. It could use some more throw and is a little worn
- lines - I checked these lines today due to the right slide of the kite. Yep front line that is also the flag out line has stretched a couple inches. I have yet to decide the best option to fix this that will also work as I use this bar with several kites.
- beach - nahant is great. A combination of east winds and who knows what, waves maybe, keep the hard pack to a minimum yesterday. Strong winds combined with a new kite forced me to ride the wet pack. Did not bother me well I was out there but I was covered in sand by the end. Oh well. Lots of washing of equipment today.

All in all a great day!

skimtwashington - 30-5-2018 at 07:43 PM

Wind was up early today...and on-shore, yet again.

The temp was a perfect 60 -65 degree thru the morning.

A bit off of straight on-shore meant best stretch was doing far end( mid bath house to Restaurant) until a late turn to full on shore couple hours later. Best surface this stretch also.

Wind in mid teens, using 4m JoJo RM for lotsa laps and leaps. I stayed 'til just before tide drove me out.

**Be careful of new Roll-a-Fence . The wood slat and wire has some occasional 'barb wire' ends.
I like to use this as backstop(or any beach fence in staking for on shores) but... I caught a barb of wire and tore a nice 3" X and Y axis tear. Patched w/ sail tape and was back in game!

Perfect day.

Before sundown runs on on-shores..Lower winds, about 8 mph or so.

Wasn't only one there . Met GLX and he was trying his home made handles....attached to his 10m Century and riding his buggy.

He let me give his kite a quick static (scud and jump) try for couple minutes before I got my Coyotes and Flexi Blade II 6.4m and rode myself.

Nice cruising, short session until dusk. Sublime.

What happened Brian...?

skimtwashington - 3-6-2018 at 04:38 PM

Not sure........:puzzled:...but this thing has happened before..

I got at the beach today at around 5:30 pm. Before I could even put a kite up one of the life guards approached me and asked to only ride north of section 8 due to the piping plovers. I nicely complied and then got a couple of hours of very nice riding.
Wind onshore in the low to mid teens. Had a 3.5m century up in the air and loved it. These kites are absolutely awesome.

How can a bird so "endangered" manage to shut down every beach on the east coast during the summer? Plovers are the most prolific "endangered" species I've ever encountered.

GLX and Ski. Am I hopefully to get out this Saturday afternoons low tide. Wind looks like it could end up mostly onshore, mid teens, mid to low 60s, light rain, 2:40 low tide. Seems like the forecast should mostly clear the beach goers.
What do you guys think?

skimtwashington - 21-6-2018 at 08:43 PM

The cool temps alone will keep populace thin... the clouds, even more so... and the rain, well, you'll own the beach.

Get it while you can.

Glx - 22-6-2018 at 02:12 AM

Gravityguy I am planning on being out there too but earlier because I have people coming over for dinner. Will probably be there around 1030-11 and pack up no latter than 230ish.

Glx - 25-6-2018 at 05:16 PM

Saturday was a very good day. Good on shore winds and a completly empty beach. Six meter Cent ii got me a little over 50 miles in just about 3.5 hours of riding.
Also gravityguy (in a buggy) and buggydanny (on a board) were out there riding. Ski also made a quick appearance. Awesome day on the beach.

#@%$#!...buggydan on a board?
would have liked to seen that

Gravityguy - 25-6-2018 at 10:23 PM

GLX - it was a great time. I wonder if you got any good footage from a couple of those runs. You will have to post when you get it sorted out.

I would like to get the people who ride Nahant feelings on the following. I would like to start a topic under the Land use... ... ... catogory to gather the best practices and requests for our land use at the beach. A little self policing and a listing of what we think the current best practices and requests are might help us communicate and allow for the enjoyment of the beach. I am thinking a topic with the first post containing a list of Nahant guidelines/recomemdations we self impose, the agreement we have for use, and the seasonal requests we get.
I think the first post could be a list of the basic guidelines followed by dates requests. People post seasonal/ new onsite requests in the topic which, could be vetted if necessary, and added to the 1st post.
I can spear head this and manage the topic if we think this is a good idea. I know many of you have forged this ground before and have a good base on this topic and am happy to join in this.
Anyone feel free to U2U me or post here you thoughts.
Mike
