I like this particular display

I saw Mr Mulligans GPS display on a 64 mph run, now I need a speedometer and a compass. Curiosity can make you poor.

I'll shop new used and revamped with warranty,, and here of course.
The big deal is the display. A real time compass and speedometer that's easy to read
Everybody favors etrx model newest" I am an analog guy, or old geezer if you prefer.

The only ads using this display in their picture are for the "20. Maybe they all do it, but I can't sort the specs out enough to be sure.

Please somebody. Tell my which ones do this arrow compass and easy speedometer display? If it comes attached to a Dominator that would be okay.

My Delorme Earthmate does that.

Looks like my etrex 10 does that too. I have it mounted on my buggy now. I can read the speed when I'm riding, but it's hard because of lack on lighting and contrast. If I'm going any speed at all my buggy bounces around so much I can't read anything.....

I'll be in your boat Randy, bump bump. I should experiment with my truck gps and some duct tape first.
As for the earthmate, well for the price it ought to steer for you. Worth a look, thanks.

Sally, I've been most pleased with my Garmin etrex 20x. I searched around on the net and bought one new at a reasonable cost. As others have noted above, once things get moving and shaking it is awfully hard to read these GPSs. This can be compounded if it is a bright sunny day and you have sunglasses on. To preserve battery life I (and I assume most) set the little guy up to only shine it's back light for a short period of time before going darker again. It would no doubt be easier to read with the back lighting on, at least for the first 30 minutes or so...

Interesting, I did not know the 10 could do that. There's no arrow however. Instead, the N,E,S,W just spin around.

Setup a custom dashboard and you can get all sorts of good info at a glance.

I like the Speedo in big numbers with 4 windows (fastest, current distance, current speed and total distance)...or something like that.

I like my etrex20 a lot.

You can get them used for $50.

I first had this one. Had it about 5 years. It's in the lake.

Had this one for a few. Someone found it before I did one day.

I'm not buying another one. Now I just use the one I use for Windsurfing.
