This may be a strange question, but any of you that currently, or used to in the past, kite in Georgia at the Olympic Horse Park?
I just remembered one day I was at the park with a friend to fly some stunt kites on a light wind day at the horse park probably seven or eight years
ago and there was a man there with a mountain board and what I think I remember being a Prism Tensor. We only briefly spoke, but that memory sticks
out in my mind from time to time as one of the first and only people I have ever met that flew kites before I met most of you all at JIBE and my
kite-surfing friends in Chicago. Was that guy struggling in light wind on the mountain board any of you guys?

Never even heard of the place till now so it wasn't me. Might be worth a look. The horse _____ probably would be worse than the turkey and dog
_____ I have to dodge at the fairgrounds though. I'd be afraid the horse people would not want to have anyone using their place, but you never know.
I've also thought that maybe the big parking lots at Atlanta Motor Speedway would be good, but never contacted them about using their place.

You talking about the polo field near Aiken?
Randy - 19-3-2018 at 02:53 PM
I think it was this place.

Bob, I am pretty sure hes talking about somewhere that is much closer to Atlanta as Randy points out.
I have not been to OOBE field in a long long time though!... I think its under different ownership now though. And the last time I was there, the RC
Model Plane folks had taken over much of the field!

I am talking about the Centennial Olympic Horse Park in Conyers. This was the place of the outdoor events of the '96 Olympics. They also held their
mountain bike races there. I have wrecked more than once on the Olympic trails. There is a large field that is suitable for some kite flying, although
I don't think I would trust it for any medium to high wind flying because of the number of trees around. It does get relatively steady wind when the
winds are light.
I was just hoping that the guy I met briefly there was part of this group and I could see how he progressed from that day. He seemed somewhat new to
power kiting, but he was wearing plenty of safety gear, so I left him to his riding while I flew my E2 a bit.

I'm getting word that another guy interested in kiting has said he got permission to use that park.
