Anyone Get To Buggy This Time Of Year?

When I first started; I would endure the heat and ride anyways. Now though; the heat seems to detract from the pleasure and pleasantness of the experience.

This is the temp before the heat index.



I ride to give me something to do outdoors. I like being outside on nice days. Plus this is pretty much the only form of "exercise" I get. Not to mention all the thrills, excitement, and adrenaline the buggy can provide. Those tense, heart stopping and eye opening moments. A close call or almost or what if; thinking "that was close" or "that could have been bad". Harnessing all the power from the wind and controlling it and making use of it.

So who here has been riding lately? What are your temps and conditions like?

I'm waiting for the nice weather to come back in September. August is looking a bit warm.

Where you from ? Those are high spring temps. I get a headache in direct sunlight in that kinda heat. Riding my bug at Ivanpah back in May 2011, the temperature hit 100f. There was no way I could ride with the helmet, so ditched it. Once you get moving and with the wind in your hair you start to cool off, then its perfectly ok. Winter is best here in the UK. The beaches are too busy in summer. In winter the wind blows hard and there's nobody around. Its the best time. We don't get 100f very often, if we do then its short lived with a big thunderstorm to cool things off. Just as well really as road rage ensues and the roads start melting.

2018 has been disappointing however, the wind has been non-existent coming from the north and east, cold too. The Beast from the East we've been calling it. I managed to get out just once this year so far.

I have been a bit disappointed in this season (for me November to March) in Atlanta but mainly compared to last year. Last year was my first year buggying and was epic for me. I went riding about twice as much. We were in draught then so the ground was bone dry and hard as a rock, grass all but dead and we had a windy year. This year its rained a lot, we've had good winds at times, but not as often and I had to miss some of the primo days for one reason or another. Still I made it out quite a bit, but now have switched to water with my kite boat. I might still go out on the buggy in the right circumstances, but lately everytime it blows it seems like it rained a lot the night before. I will of course be going to JIBE so I hope to close this season out with a smile on my face.
