That's a little vague and depends on many factors and personal preference. A buggy is easier IMO and has bigger wheels for rougher terrain. A landboard is better if you want the "skateboard" type feel and style and you have a nice mostly smooth area to ride and somewhat clean wind. Rough terrain or tall thick grass and lumpy wind, I would take a buggy any day.

Gravityguy - 5-4-2018 at 08:53 AM

For me Buggy. Why? I don't have a landboard. With out more information(as ssayre points out) I would say choose whatever your gut is leaning towards. Once you have a kite in the air and are moving will be addicted.

I like buggy better, but most times circumstances dictate what I do. Some days the buggy field is muddy so if I can I go elsewhere to landboard. Sometimes though I just like doing one or the other. I want to ride as much as I can so I like to have as many options as possible. I also have a kite boat which gives me even more options.

There is no "which is better" there is only which is better for "you". It's like asking is skiing/snowboarding or sailing/motorboating or fishing/hunting, etc. better. I like land boarding but that is what's right for me. Find your own path grasshopper.

imo..its all about fun w/ wind
conditions dictate whats easiest or best to do and thats what I'm doing

Bladerunner - 6-4-2018 at 02:42 PM

Good better best. It's hard to say. The answer is blowing in the wind.

My PERFECT DAY is when I can score a " trifecta " by riding blades, board and buggy all in the same day! Each offers it's own rewards and drawbacks.
Why limit your options?

You pay for your mistakes more riding stand up. As I am getting older I am getting more seat time than stand up. A big draw to boards is jumping. I will jump stand up but have never gone there with the buggy. Very few do.

A whole lot of it is dictated by location. Our park is grass on dunes. As the year progresses sand pits get softer and more common. Riding with small tires gets frustrating if not outright unsafe.

Randy - 6-4-2018 at 04:58 PM

Yes - take the best ride the wind will give you on any particular day.

eric67m - 6-4-2018 at 06:09 PM

I barely tried landboarding with old low aspect fixed bridals. It was not my thing. I got a buggy and never looked back.

I have been known to say "as long as I have a kite in the air and a smile on my face, whether it's in the wind with a power foil or a Rev or in a gym with an indoor kite."

So... I thought it a bit weird that there are so many first time posters lately that seem to know more than they should about kiting and only post once. Turns out they're spam posts - if you search the header or the body text you'll find the original questions are by actual members.
