Can I use the bar from a 9m Peak 2 on a 12m Speed 4 Lotus? I spent a bunch of time reading manuals yesterday eve, and then had nightmares about the
safety not working... so I wanted to sanity check this.
The Peak 2 has an "Infinity Light Bar"... Infinity 3.0 bar stick, clam cleat trim, Infinity 2.0 quick release, and front line safety (FLS). The flying
lines are DC300 (frontline) and DC200 (backline) @ 21m. The FLS line is DC500 @ 12m with the knot at 10.405 m. https://flysurfer.com/files/dlm_uploads/2014/11/PEAK2_LP_9.p...
The Speed 4 Lotus had an Infinity 2.0 bar, pull pull trim. The flying lines are DCP 200 (frontline), and DC 200 (backline). The FLS is 12m DC500 with
the knot at 8.17m. https://flysurfer.com/files/dlm_uploads/2013/12/SPEED4-Lotus...
If I move the FLS knot, will it be compatible? Am I missing anything important?
Thanks and cheers! Can't wait to try the new (to me) speed 4.

I had a similar thought a few years ago. I was going to use my 6m Peak2 bar with my 15m FS speed 3. Bar lengths were way different. The peak bar
was much shorter so my investigation ended there. Bar from a 9 or 12m peak probably would've been compatible. Interested to see what you find. Good
luck.

I carefully tried it out last weekend. Everything worked fine so far, safety worked, and the kite flew great.
As far as I can tell, the components are up to the same spec. I didn't move the FLS stopper knot because the position it's in now provides a bit more
flag out line than original spec.
The first rides were sublime. 12-16 kts cruising in shallow water, exactly what I imaged. So smooth. Coming from spending a lot of time on the Peak, I
will have to work on being more precise with the controls and letting the kite breath. I could probably dial in the depower range and trim... I was
having trouble reaching out far enough sometimes.
Cheddarhead, I enjoyed your thread about water kite-boarding at SPI. I'm at similar phase in the water.
Cheers!
