what do you guys think flies most like a bullet? i like the instability, which translates well to quick turns and static fun.

Ozone Samurai, Flexifoil Rage, Flexifoil Blurr, Ozone Riot, Pansh Flux, Pansh Ace 2, HQ Beamer, Peter Lynn Hornet, Peter Lynn Pepper, Mac Bego, Prism
Tensor? All seem good for static fun, gentle landboarding, and fun effortless buggy cruising. I'd also imagine all the new single skin kites to be
fun. Peter Lynn Twisters are fun for static liftyness and pull.

I would cross Rage, Blurr and Flux off that list, probably the Hornet too. They're all great for stability and pulling, but not as fun static as the
Bullet. Bullet takes very little input, and spins on a dime. I only have the tiny Beamer (1.8), which acts a little bit like the Bullet, but probably
because it's small - I don't know how the larger size Beamers react - I think they're supposed to be pretty stable. Bullet is a special kite. Never
tried a Viper.acampbell - 27-5-2018 at 09:22 AM
my response above got hosed on my iPhone, but I was going to say that the Rage was the replacement for the Bullet. I like the term "instability"
here; it's not often you here it used as a virtue, but it's a good point. I liked my Rage 3.5 and wish I still had it. Great high-winds kite and
felt that it was quick in the turns like the Bullet.tomdiving - 28-5-2018 at 09:05 AM
most of the small, stable kites do really well with good wind. the bullets seem to need a little less wind, per size, than others, to realize their
air ballet potential.
i put my 2.6 viper up yesterday and agree that it's a quick turner, but not quite as quick as a 2.5 bullet. i had light, sketchy winds. jeffnyc, grab
one if it pops up anywhere. you'd like it.
the 3.5 bullet that i recently got is great for "the dance." (thanks, beachrights!!!) my 3.5 rage just pulls. the 3.5 blurr just PULLS. i can't do
anything with that except run. (i'm at 149 lbs at the moment)
3m hornet and beamer are actually a bit too composed for what i want. the only flux sizes i have are 1.4 and 2.0. nice in a decent blow, but not
nearly as nice as the 1.5 bullet.
have not flown a tensor, samurai, or pepper, but their low AR's probably aren't what i'm looking for. have not tried an ace 2 yet, but might get one
when i need lines or handles again.
the ozone riot and small mac bego seem like likely contenders. thanks for those suggestions. not much info online about them, though.
the only twister i have is a 4m. it goes up when there's too little wind for much else to even fly. i know that i'll just be going back and forth and
only getting that workout, but that's better than sitting on my can in front of this computer for yet even more hours. a 5m toxic is the same for me
in that regard. the 4.7 rage is in that mix, too.
i have 4.5 and 5.5 bullets that'll get tested in those conditions soon. preliminary flights with those seem that they're just pullers, too. i might
be expecting too much with large kites and low-ish winds, but it was worth the try.
only 4mph wind now in detroit, mi, so no kites for a bit. it'll be 95 degrees, though, so i'll be on the bicycle for a few glorious hours soaking up
the vitamin D.
thanks for the opinions, as always. you guys/gals are always very helpful and very much appreciated.

stings, too
tomdiving - 28-5-2018 at 03:59 PM
forgot to mention the flexi stings. the discontinued 1.2 is a hoot in high wind. if i ever think that it's actually way too windy to kite, this is my
choice so that i can live to kite another day. the 1.7 is great, the 2.4 is good, the 3.3 is.... not a horrible choice if the 3m hornet and beamer are
having trouble.
i stick 'em on 25m lines. the lightweight 18m stock lines would be great for beginners (as intended) but do not do them justice otherwise. give 'em
some legs.
beginner kites? yep. girly kites? nope. (but could be, if you're a girly) beginner ONLY kites that you'll soon outgrow? not a chance.
don't knock 'em until you try 'em.

PKD Buster
+ 1 for the 1.7m Sting in the strongest of winds it is stable and continues to pull at the edge of the window. But then I just got one so am biased. jy1zoom - 1-6-2018 at 10:03 AM
