Thinking about buds on the central east coast

acampbell - 11-9-2018 at 07:30 AM

Just a heads up and good luck shout-out to our buddies in the Carolinas and Virginia. Looks like Hurricane Florence is bearing down right on the guys at HQ Kites in OBX and other kite peeps in the region such as Chad, Chris R, Scott and others. Hope you guys get out of dodge and can find safe haven.

We are told here in the Golden Isles that a CAT 4 would put all of Glynn County except the airport under water.

Be safe guys and keep in touch.

Stay safe and get the hell out of there
We had some coastal flooding here in New Jersey this weekend
But nothing you guys are going to get hit with

Good luck to all those around the coast. I'd get the heck of Dodge soon as possible.

My house was built in the 50's. It has weathered many a storm. I shall ride it out in place vs. in my truck, somewhere else that is flooding. If it floods we will go upstairs.

I wish there was more I could do than pray and hope for you guys
Mother Nature can be a #@%$#! when she wants to be
Praying for the best

Go upstairs? I hope it isn't a crows nest.
Makes me cringe when I hear this stuff. My hopes and prayers go out to you guys.
I agree with Randy, get the heck out of dodge.

I chatted with Chris who lives in Kill Devil Hills this morning. He says they are staying put. I'm a little worried about that, but he must need to stay or feel enough confidence in the reports to not evacuate. He would have to drive 6-10 hours to get out of trouble from this storm.

Anyone in South Carolinas that wants to bug out come on to Aiken. Even N. Carolina isn't that far
3 hours from Myrtle Beach, Charleston, Edisto and Hilton head.
Can bed down 10 in 2 motor coaches. 5/5
We'll get some rain and some wind but no storm surge and that's the bad stuff.
Looks like Sat and Sun. may be the worst days.
There's plenty of food and water here even some good BBQ.
Prayers to all that ride it out.

My sister was on vacation with her husband's family in Myrtle Beach this week. They left last night to get home. Hopefully it dies out quickly once it hits the coast.
