It is WAY better to receive used kites in the mail rather than new kites.
When I get a used kite there is much more excitement in exploring and going over the kite and line set than there is in unboxing a new kite.

I have owned more used than new power kites. Right now it's 9 used and only 5 brand new. I know, pitifully sad :megan:
I like both of course but the unknown is always more exciting. You may have just what you bought a little more or less, or you may have a super
bargain that justifys whatever you spent.
I hope no one ever gets crappola, but it happens. Not here though... 
Only flown a few times might be beaten bruised and scraped, or you could hesitantly send 800.00 for a used Peak CE that was hooked up backwards and
never really flown at all..YES. Crispy shiny new.
I think it goes best if you get a few nice ones before you get disappointed. This is a good place to have that confidence building experience. When
you buy your first used one on PKF it'll probably be just what you expected, I have 3 that belonged to Windstruck at one time or another, it's hard to
avoid :frog: really. The others are hand me downs from Ikemiester and JeffNYC, both fine deals from good guys.
It's a lottery ticket you scratch off every time and you have to be excited when the box shows up. I try never to let fear of loss interfere with
desire for gain. Used is better for me.

I do so love being the punch line of such fine humor. Glad someone appreciates how I keep the used market well stocked and fortified.
One of the true joys of buying used is the occasional surprise that comes along unexpectedly. The person will remain unnamed (they know who they are)
but a truly wonderful surprise a couple of years ago was a drop dead beautiful kite stake with large decorative marble on top that showed up
unexpectedly in a used kite box sent to me. :D

I may recall more, but I think I have only bought 2 used kites here (and one was really a trade) but I have bought a half dozen or so on ebay. I have
never been dissatisfied with the condition of any used kite I've bought. Most were in excellent shape, one (from Ebay) was probably a little below
average. For one reason or another, some didn't meet my needs or work well for me, but it was never due to the kites condition. It's interesting
that the one kite in below average condition turned out to be very useful to me and flies just fine. I did have to hand sew a cell with a tear in it.

Also it occurs to me that I took Winstrucks advice, and it paid me cash. A circumstance which requires me to admit that Steve's advice has been
profitable to me.

Fortunately I keep my feathers numbered, for just such an emergency.
