1st session of the 2018-19 snowkiting season

I was a cold September here and October started with 10 inches of wet snow last Tuesday (2 feet in the mountains to the West). No wind to speak of until yesterday when I finally got enough to keep my 12m Shaman powered up. Lots of holes in the snow cover made it interesting.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving everyone!:bigok:

WHAAAAT?!!? So jealous right now.

We just got our 1st dusting of snow in our front yard yesterday - not enough to play in yet though.

Hey, how do you like that Shaman? They look like a really cool kite.

I like the Shaman so far. I have used the 6m most often this summer with the buggy. Too early to tell. Each wing tip has 2 closed cells so there is almost no flutter. The leading edge has hook shaped stiffeners so you have to watch how they get positioned when packing up. They come with stuff sacks instead of back packs but both kites will fit in my 10m Venom pack if I need to hike anywhere.

Way to go Buddy. 1st and possibly last out again this year.

One reason I could move back to Calgary and be happy. For sure.

Always got my respect and that includes the Shaman. Gin was sure to out do Flysurfer going SS and they totally suit your style / needs. Very intersted on what Ozone is bringing to the table?

Its great to see more companies trying out the SS kites. I've yet to try one but I like the idea of them: small pack size, cheaper, and good for touring. One of these days maybe I'll get a chance to try one out.

Went out for my first session this year. Ice is still a bit soft but you can't beat the scenery. :D

I assumed there was no use trying to keep the discerning BornKite crowd in the dark.

Got my first winter session here in Colorado this week - woo hoo! Had a winter storm hit the front range - dropped about 4 - 8 inches and made some of the local areas kiteable.

Was so jazzed the night the snow started to drop, I couldn't sleep past 3:30. Got up and there was enough moonlight that it would have been kiteable, so checked out some of my favorite places. But....no wind. Bummer. So went to work. After work though, oh man, had a great session on some super soft powder, made all the sweeter by the smooth winds at a spot that is normally plagued with turbulent air.

So nice to have winter back. Can't wait to see what the season has to offer!
