Hey everyone, Ive been into power kiting for about 1 year now, and I have a radsail 2.4m. I thought I would try boarding, so I bought myself an Exit
shruiken at the weekend(tight budget).
I went out on sat afternoon and only came off 3 times( not bad considering I never had a skateboard). The only thing is, I dont weather its me or not
but the kite seemed to struggle to pull me. So I was thinking of upgrading, but im torn between pkd brooza 3m, buster 3m or hq beamer tsr 3.6m.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

If you are flying a 2.4 and struggling, I'd be looking at something more in the 4m range than the 3 meter range. I weigh 145#s and fly inland. My
5.5 is the kite that gets the most use. Being powered makes boarding easier so a 3 is going to be too close to your 2.4 and not make things much
easier for you.

I agree with B-Roc. The kites in the 3.0 range may have a lot of overlap with your 2.4 and something closer to the 4.0 range may be better.
That being said - each manufacturer and model kite will produce different power. They are all not equal. One 3.0 meter kite may pull the same as
another 2.2 meter kite. It all depends on the design of the kite.
I highly suggest that you fly a couple kites first before you buy. This will allow you to test out different kites and their power before putting
your money down on one. I realize that this is quite difficult to do in some areas as there are no kite shops that are willing to let you test the
kites or may not have the kites in stock at all. If possible, talk to the shop and see if they know of anyone else in your area that flies, maybe you
can test their gear or at least get information from them on what kite they recommend.
As always you can ask any question on here as well. There are a ton of very experienced pilots on here that are more than willing to help.

If you go Brooza, have a good look at the 4m or 5.5m, they do quite well when totally powered up at the top of their wind range. They also handle
gusts really well so you can get away with a little more kite with less chance of lofting. If you're on a budget you can get pretty good performance
out of both the beamer and buster as well.

I think I agree with the rest. a 2.4 would have way too much cross over with me 3 brooza. If you live in a windy place and are small you may get more
from the 4. If you have moderate winds then the 5.5. In our parts the 5.5 would be your best bet.
So far I'm very happy with my brooza and would say it's a good option. Busters are cheaper and also very good + a bit more user friendly !

Thanks for the replies. My friend has a radsail pro 3m, I havent used it on the board but I did use it on quite a gusty day and it does pull really
well. I managed to fly it farely easily because im quite a big guy(100kg).
The thing is, where I live there is hardly ever a constant wind. Its normally very gusty and unpredictable.

Sounds like you should be looking at depowerable kites ! Flysurfer, Ozone, Peter Lynn, Flexi ( sabre ) and a few others.
Arcs are a good option.
