JoJo RM+ reviews

speleopower - 4-5-2007 at 07:48 PM

I'm looking for reviews of the JoJo RM+ kites. I'm in the market for a 8 meter kite that flys similar to a Quadrifoil XXXL.

Any ideas or suggestions?????:puzzled::puzzled:

Good, fast, strong, About the only thing that'll beat it in a straight line is possibly the Yakuza or the Combat, but they easily hold their own in any race.

Expect to take a day or two to get used to it though, Like any race kite, they have their ways, and until you learn them you'll be missing the full potential.

Can you tell me whether the JoJo flys similar to the Quadrifoil Competition kites?

Thanks

Never flown the Quadrafoils to compare.

Scott,
I have an RM+3 and +4 and I love them. They are fast, have plenty of power and up wind performance without the instability that you get with some of the other race kites like Razors and the RMs. If you like speed, they will not let you down and yet they perform very well in gusty conditions.

I used to bowtie my RM3 all the time when the winds were unstable, but the RM+3 is much better. I had a Razor 2.5 which I found unstable, to say the least, when the winds became the least bit gusty.

If you like grunt and you want to do freestyle, then quadrafoils are probably better. I have flown a couple they definitely seemed to fly slower and had more lift. I can't really comment on the larger RM+ kites, but I know that several people are using the power handles (with pulleys). Check out Jon's site at KiteBuggySpeedShop.com for the kites and power handles.

Hi-Thanks for the info. I use these kites as my kitesurfing kites. My all time favorite is the Quadrifoil XXXL. One of mine is pretty worn out and the other got a rip in it. I bought a Flexifoil 10.5 meter as a replacement and hope to find something in the 8 meter range that has a lot of lift and good turning speed.
I found the Quadrifoil Competition XXL (7 meterish) kite was to unstable. I ended up bowtieing it all the time. The kite would flip over on itself easily. I don't know why it did this. All other Quadrifoil kites I have had did not do this it was only the XXL version.
I think the JoJo RM+ range is going to be the closest match to the Quadrifoil Competition series that I'm going to find. I don't like the mesh over the openings in the Blade kites.
Thanks for the info on the smaller JoJo kites. I don't plan on going smaller than a Blade 4.9, Quadrifoil XL 4.9 meter kite again.
See ya-Scott

Jon is on a road trip right now. He was at Cinco de Mayo in Galveston last weekend and has been on the road for several months. I'm not sure when he gets back home, but that's probably why he has not emailed you back. You might try calling him on his cell. It's posted on his website.

Thanks for the info! I"m not in a hurry. I've got another year or so of life left in my Quadrifoils.
