Harness and handles

Greetings to all in the forum. A quick question for someone.
When flying using a harness, what mechanism is used to connect you to the handles ? Also, my handles does not have a line connecting them, so how, and what do I attach between the handles ? I find pictures much easier to get my head around, so any drawings or photo's would be more than appreciated. Expecting 20 - 30mph winds this weekend, and the tides at my local beach are spot on so I am hoping to try out my home made buggy.
Thanks in advance

You're looking for a Strop, it's a line that connects the two handles, most handles will have at least a set of tails coming out of the handles in line with the main power leaders. You want to make a piece of climbing rope or something along those lines, should resist abrasions, If there's no tails to larkshead the strop to, then you need to tie it directly to the handles, I've done this by wrapping the strop rope around the handles a couple times, once under the flying line, then once over, then a good knot right behind the flying lines to anchor it in place. Mess around with the strop length until you get it perfect, you should be able to reach the handles at all times, have a good amount of travel left and right, and still be far enough from your body to do brake turns when one handles close to your body.
