WANTED AT IBX 2022: Kite Squire

Windstruck - 13-2-2022 at 03:09 PM

Once again, I'm accepting applications for a "Kite Squire" to assist me at IBX 2022. Pay is pretty decent (negotiable, but could be up to $100 a day for truly exceptional squiring). Duties include: ensuring my buggy is set up with all snug bolts and secured straps; my body armor, helmet, and related kit are neat, orderly, and available upon request; kites are organized and readily available for selection; lines and bridles are consistently untangled; launches, landings, and kite swaps seamlessly assisted; kites swapped out are neatly folded and put back in their stuff sacks for future spontaneous deployment; frequent beverage delivery; and, occasional light sandwich work. I'm accepting applications up to the start of the event.

And to think I've been doing this for free for years...

Well, landings at least. And I typically cause more tangles than I correct.

Oh, I understand now. I am put out to pasture.

You rang, m'lord?

One hundred dollars you say. Mmmmm, :smug: American?
Sir, as you well know, I have squired for the best. Nominated for beatch of the year 2018 and with numerious accolades in servitude, you'll find that I come highly recommended.

I accept your terms. Unfortunately I'm fully unvaxed against covid, therefore travel to the U.S. might present a minor challenge. I understand however that your southern boarder is as porous as our English Channel. Stick with me, I have an idea....

That's the spirit!!! Our Southern Border has been wide open since, well, January. Having already earned Beatch distinctions is a definite plus in this competitive interviewing cycle. Evidence of past behavior remains the best predictor of future excellence! Your application remains open!

Put out to pasture iPaul? Oh, though contesteth too much! Your assistance countless times is unparalleled on the playa, and your enduring friendship speaks for itself. Rather, I'm looking again for a full-time, dedicated soul that further puts my kites away and lays them out. Such duties could never be expected from any non-Squire. There is no indentured servitude on the playa!

Normally, yes it is. Sadly, my bride and a week on the playa just don't mix. While I'm content with the mint-on-the-pillow luxury of the Primm Valley Casino (those are mints, aren't they?). She is more of, shall we say, a full-service hotel gal.

And for the record, you sick dog, I was referring to actual sandwiches. Kite buggying is hungry work! I would never ask my squire for such things! :moon:
