Maybe for some, it's too hot to ride while others are waiting for wind and tides.

Nice to hear from you again!

For me, my kiting spot (Ivanpah Dry Lake) is fry-an-egg-on-your-helmet hot for a few more months. The winds blow true through the summer, but it's pretty much dangerous to spend time out there in this sort of heat, not to mention flat out uncomfortable.

My usual riding spots become populated with people and this time of year wind is scarce. It's also hot here too (even if it isn't a dry lake bed in the middle of a desert).:D JIBE usually marks the end of my season, while the first cold and windy day of the fall starts the new season. Looking forward to it.

Checking in - started kite foiling (hydrofoil) recently. Highly recommend it! Just an awesome experience and doesn't take much wind. Have been using Flysurfer Peaks lately.

Parking lot changes everything. Easier to roll, keep rolling, and maintain speed.

Sadly, I only get out about once per year now. Those in my area used to use this site to plan weekend outings and build excitement but either everyone but me has moved on to facebook or the passion and opportunity has died for most in my area. I still love the sport but struggle to motivate myself to go out.

The Facebook group is nearly as quiet as this forum has become IMO.

Wing Foiling has opened up a lot of spots (inland or rocky coast lines) since no lines/launch issues.

I could see this being good option to get out on the water!

I have only got in a few sessions on a wing board so far.

I'm into wingfoil also. Just had my first "flights" a few weeks back. Here's my most recent day. As you can tell I do have a way to go but I am getting better. My friend shows the way it is supposed to work flying by as I'm getting back on the board after a crash.

As my avatar shows - wings can also work on kite buggies.

Nice one Randy. I see you've attached a telephone to the kite. Good idea in case of emergencies :p

I guess kite buggying has always been a rare sport outside of the craze era of the late 1990's to around 2010.
Great to see people still checking in from time to time and still keen to ride, even if the opportunities are slim.

I buggy alone, no friends etc, but I still enjoy it, and despite only riding a few times per year, I know there's a place where I can share the adventures online.

Stay in touch. Long live PKF
