Got Harnesses?

rtz - 8-11-2022 at 07:31 PM

Front row is my main windsurf, kiteboard, and buggy harness. Rest are spares, alternates, backups gotten at good deal or price. 2 helmets and 2 more not shown. And too top it all off; the Blokart needs no harness! If I had a skateboard background; I'm sure I would landboard and skate sail as well. If I was up north; I'd iceboat and snow kite(skis and snowboard).

Public Service Announcement:

Harness strap let go under load today. 20-30mph wind and 2m kite. Webbing looked like it always looks.

If you have a harness around 10 years old; might wrap the webbing around something and hang on it and check to see it will support your body weight. Had I done that I'm sure it would have separated. But I had no idea.

What's the chances, likelihood, and possibility of there being more then one factory that's makes these bars? I suspect the same place makes all of them.

My webbing on my Peter Lynn Divine failed exactly the same way. Although the cause of it's failure was my 19m Speed 3 Deluxe popping some fuse links in the bridle and inverting while at speed and suddenly reversing direction. The kite hit the ground and blew a hole in itself and tore a few more fuse links as I got yanked out the back of the buggy with my now-blown-open Divine spreader bar now flapping in the wind While I look confused and wonder what happened.
