Where to buy kite lines?

pongnut - 16-12-2023 at 10:27 PM

After Googling for an hour, I'm not having much luck sourcing a 2-line set of dyneema lines for a Peter Lynn Vibe 2.3. The stock lines are 18m (60ft) and 150kg (330lb). Does anyone know where somebody in the US can still buy lines close to these specs?

You could try contacting Kent at:
A Wind Of Change Kites

i'm pretty sure that i have a similar set from a flexifoil kite lying around somewhere in my basement. send me a mail at tomdiving@yahoo.com with an address. if i can find them, they're yours.
if your current lines aren't worn through, switch them around from the handles to the kite and create a new wear point.
you can use longer lines, too, you know.

Thanks gents! I was excited to see that there are still some "survivors" who still monitor this forum. I'll reach out to Kent AND shoot an email to you Tom.

I did find a couple sets that were close enough strength wise, but way longer that I need. If I end up snatching up one of those long sets, I guess I could either splice a couple of leader loops to the one end, or maybe just tie some sort of loop knot on those ends.

Not that I'm terribly active on either, but I'd rather give up Facebook than this forum.

If neither Tom or Kent can help you, I'm sure that I have a 4-line set from a Hornet that you can take the top lines from. Le'me know.

i'll drop a 18M four line set from a sting in the mail tomorrow or wednesday. i think the tops are 200kg. the bottoms are 100kg. 100's should be good for static, the 200's should be able to drag a horse. (just a small horse, though)
