The family and I are taking a trip up the CA coast this weekend. Starting in L.A. and then hitting Santa Barbara, Pismo, Carmel, Monterry and Santa
Cruz and then working our way to Yosemite.
I'm planning on bringing my landboard but I've promised my wife that I will only board once Where should I stop? Hoping for big open hard packed sand with either onshore or offshore conditions. Obviously I'll look at the current
conditions as the week progresses, but wanted to get an idea of best place in terms of consistency. Winds from 13-20 mph would be ideal (Don't think
I'd want to put up a kite in 25mph, for example). Not a beginner, but just don't want to get hurt.
Also, what kite should I bring (probably only have room for 2 or 3). I have: Bullet 7.0, Bullet 4.5, Beamer II 3.6, 2.5, 1.8, PL reactor 2.9 and Apex
7.5. BTW, I'm about 220lbs.
Thanks in advance.

Pismo is probably you best bet, provided the tides are in your favour! I think theres some good landboarding up around from monterey a bit as well...
again, it's all tide dependant though! Check the tides out first
Wind at pismo at this time of year usually gets up to around 20-25 though on a good day - probably wouldn't be much fun on a fixed bridle kite though,
you'd need a depowerable!

Ditto on Pismo beach just So. of the pier.
In Monterrey's Bay just off of Casa Verde st. is a lot flatter and compacked than the reg. spot and could be done if the tides are right and the
wind.
I wouldn't even think of Carmel.. militant dog owners + no leash law besides great place to spend with your wife.
SC{santa cruz} I haven't had to much experience their other than trying to find wind to do anything, but the beach bunnys will keep you bizzy looking
over your shoulder to see if your wife catches you glaring at them

Thanks for the replies dom and KS. Would have replied sooner but work has been crazy...vacation could not have come at a better time!
So it looks like Pismo. Maybe I'll try in Monterey also...might have to buy the wife a nice dinner first.
...and maybe a little stop at the beach in Santa Cruz to watch the bunnies....I mean....fly my kite.
