The Ace 5.0 just went up to $117! Looks like everything else is the same price. An $18 increase is still a great deal for this kite from what I have
read. Mine should be here this week.

by the time I can buy one it will be a normal price kite
depp - 12-6-2007 at 04:41 PM
ive got a red one and gonna get a black one because their lush....
thercman - 13-6-2007 at 09:41 AM
Why are they so cheap?
beachrights - 13-6-2007 at 03:40 PM
1] We all know about the cheap labor
2] There seems to be some issues with poor stiching on these kites- but does anyone know how many have been sold? A quality rating defect of 1% or so
is acceptable.
3] The price has been rising on all of their products so it may be a marketing move to start them out cheap.
4] There is no way I am flying a 5.0 on that twine they send for lines! The handles are ok but geez!
I had a 3.0 Blaze and other then having to add more brake knots there was very good quality. My 5.0 Ace should be here soon- this will be the test due
to backorders and what seems to be rushed manufacturing. None of us wants to be on a buggy at 30 mph or jumping with a poorly made kite! Any issues
with it and I will be emailing for a refund.

Looks like I got in just under the wire. I missed the delivery today but it is already in town. Less than a week ! I'm impressed.
I screwed up and made a double order. They were very good about straightening things out. So far this looks like a well run company.
Bring on the wind !!!!!
I think someone mentioned that their Ace was labelled Promotional. That may explain the cheap intro price on it + I'm sure it makes a big difference
to Customs.
Best started out as an online Company to keep prices down. I suspect that dealing factory direct helps them to keep their prices down. Almost ALL kite
manufacturers produce their product in cheap labour countries so that can only be part of the reason.
I'ld be interested in how they get their patterns. Are they doing R+D or are they ripping off shapes from bigger companies ???
beachrights - 13-6-2007 at 03:52 PM
I had the double order deal also! The website said my payment did not go through, so I reordered only to find the 1st order did go through! So I
emailed the lovely Rose or is it Rosie-wait, today is Wednesday it's Rose! Thursdays and Saturdays she is Rosie.
{buy a pansh and this will all make sense!}
She was very good about helping cancel the order but Paypal still transferred the money from my account so I now have to bounce it back. Try
explaining that to your wife!

That's how it started for me to. I freaked out and used Paypal's grievance process to stop payment + emailed Rose ( last wed ) . They dropped charges
and I ordered again from Rosie ( on thursday ) . Darn good thing, if I had 100 bucks stuck in Paypal you know I'ld add a bit and buy kite gear.

im getting me a 5.5m Legend. Should be on the way.
Bladerunner - 14-6-2007 at 03:32 PM
The Ace arrived ! VERY STRANGE ! The package looked O.K. When I opened it I found knife slashes on both sides of the bag and marks on the box ??? The
kite however looks to be O.K. ???? I'm off to the beach. Not much wind but I can rig it and look farther into the slashing. Right now it looks like I
got a re-used bag and box ? I think I'm going straight to a bar on it.
I have seen worse bridle lines but these look to be made of the same " Chinese Dyneema " as the fly lines.
Bladerunner - 14-6-2007 at 06:51 PM
Tried out the Ace. The wind was just about the perfect bottom end. It was about 8-10 knots. I like the way it generates it's power a LOT. SMOoooth !
My 4.5 Bullet is much more on / off with the power. The wind was a bit light for testing the jumps although it definately has lift.
I was passing a tree and hooked a line. I wasn't traveling too fast ( on the blades ) but before if knew it the kite turned and I got lifted about 6ft
IN TO THE TREE
I thought I had the park to myself but it turned out the Thursday kite lesson group from the shop was all just arriving . Very embarrasing ! I
straightened things out and then helped out a bit with the lessons.
I think generally you pay for what you get but this kite is definately a steal, even at the new price. I've paid almost that much in shipping and
taxes alone for other kites ! It ain't Flexi but these kites are a good deal for folks on a budget.

Ever get the feeling these kites are cursed?!
Double payments
crazy shipping
strange cut marks
horse hair lines?!
Still can't wait for mine to arrive though!
"Who is that strange guy hanging in the tree Daddy?"
" Oh thats kite teacher son."
"Can I go home Daddy?"

When I ordered my Blaze a few weeks back it shipped via TNT. The online tracker showed it made 3 trans-pacific flights in 3 days (Hong Kong to LA, LA
back to Hong Kong, and then back again!) - the total shipping time from when I ordered it was still less than a week though... try ordering something
from the East coast (if you're on the West coast) and see how long that package takes to arrive... (unless you overnight it), so all in all pretty
good.
Re. the slash marks - there are notes on the Pansh site and in other discussions on racekites.com that customs have been opening the packages to check
the content. Some of the smaller kites have been shipping in a plastic bag - cutting into the bag with a knife is obviously not too good for the
content, so they advise to check the content when it arrives to make sure it's intact. They have been replacing any damaged kites during shipping free
of charge, so no worries if it is damaged.
My 12.5m Blaze arrived shipped in a box, so I didn't notice any issues from damage during shipping or customs.
If you read any old posts about poor quality construction about these kites these issues must have been resolved long ago. The sewing and workmanship
on my Blaze is as good as on any of my other big name kites, so don't let that you put you off.

My Buddy tried to order a 5m Ace yesterday but it said it didn't go through. So you guys are all saying that even though it says that it still went
through anyway? So what's the best way to verify that? Through your bank?
Thanks!

I used Paypal and checked my history on it. I looked almost right away so was probably a bit too hasty re-ordering. By the time I did the second and
re-checked my history, both had gone through.
Although Paypal saw my request as my own fault they stopped payment while reviewing and Pansh reversed the charges. Clearing the way to start again. I
also emailed them, of course.
