Basic's to learn

Taper123 - 1-7-2007 at 05:34 PM

I recently picked up my first buggy... a flexifoil with wide tires. I try to work on some of my control techniques for at least a little while each time I go out... and then do the speed runs as best I can up the beach :singing:

But... I need to work on control a bit more before I get too carried away. SO I guess what I'm after... what are some of the most important things to learn for a beginner. I try to practice doing some things in reverse... making the buggy go backwards, and finding ways to slide/skid/ burn off speed while the kite is coming back overhead. These things can get going pretty fast

Any recommendations on things to learn as I progress?

Two wheel revese to 360 air to two wheel reverse would be a good place to start:borg:................aj

Good one AJ. You are not an official spl buggy rider until you pull that trick off.

getting real

OK, lets get started by practicing clean down wind and upwind turns. Then try running the full length of the run on two wheel, first right side then left.
After that try 180's, then reverse back straight.
Learn to throw your buggy in the turns, practice skidding off your speed and the rest will fall in place.
These are all part of getting your recreational Buggy Instructor license.
Safety gear at all times is a must.
