heay ppl, i recently bought a firebee 4.0 and i love it. want to eventually buy a buggy and board for blasting alonf my local beaches.. but please PLEASE help me..
i'm new so still learning the basics. is there anyone i can meet with in the troon or prestwick area to show me some tips.
i dont fully understand controling the kite using the brakes, i can shoot straight through the window and usually have no problem getting to zenith. and skudding down the beach is no prob, getting back seemes to be impossible without carrying the kite..haha!

In order to take advantage of your brakes you pull in a bit on the bottom of the handle as you turn the kite. This will fold the back of the wingtip in and make for a sharper turn. Tweaking the brake alone will also turn the kite paraglider style. Both brakes on at the same time makes the kite fly in reverse. Backing down to the ground and sticking there or for reverse launching the kite if it lands nose down. To reverse launch tweak both brakes at the same time when the kite lifts up off the ground steer it until it flips. It takes a bit of practice. Easy on the brake lines is part of the trick.

You can not go straight back upwind. To get up wind you can usually only move at about 15 degrees so you have to perform a zig zag gaining a bit on each tack.

I should have mentioned how to place your hands on the handles. Most people fly with the pointer finger above the top fly line and the other 3 below. This way you can keep the bottoms of the handles loose and just tweak the brakes with the bottom 2 fingers. Often when in big wind I need to move my hands way down to the brake end of the handle to bring the kite down but fly up top.
