Power Kite Forum

Yahooooo

I just flew my power kite for the first time. I got a nice Crossfire 4.0 for a great price off ebay and couldn't wait to fly it. I went out to a nearby park. It was a fairly windy day, but it must have been a bad location. Direction of the wind kept changing and the wind was really weak.

Today I took it out for a second time. Different park. Nice breeze. I finally figured out how to set up the bridles correctly. (That was probably why the first time I couldn't get it flying the first time.) It was a blast. So much fun. Within a couple tries I was keeping it in the air and doing figure 8's through the power zone. And for a 4m kite, it really pulled hard considering the winds were nothing special. I can't wait for the next time out. Maybe I'll grab a helmet and some long pants and see if I can do a jump or two.

Grats on the flight, Chief! What did you end up having to do with the bridles to get her to fly?

I kept putting the brake bridles under and around the kite. I think I also had the kite facing the wrong direction.
