Maybe an impulse buy, maybe not. Fact is I need a better low wind kite so I just bought a 9m Blade 2 !!
This one sounds like it will have a spare bridle can anyone guess how much a bridle for this kite is worth ?
awindofchange - 25-7-2007 at 01:55 PM
I'd keep the bridle. They can stretch out on the larger sizes and it would be nice to have a spare around to put the kite back into specs.
Great kite, we nicknamed it the stump puller.

Good advice! I was sort of thinking I'ld keep the bridle. I was just thinking that I may have bought the kite for less than a hundred more than a new
bridle and wanted to confirm that. Crazy self justification , you know
I was suspecting that the bridle that size would cost about $ 110 U.S. Am i right, or are bridles cheaper than I imagine ??? $150 and they go on
Ebay :wink2:

Not sure about the cost but I can't see them costing near $100.00. Maybe someone else that has purchased one can chime in.
We usually just re-make our bridles in shop as needed. Haven't actually purchased bridles for the power kites from the manufacturer.

Thanks Kent,
I don't want to bother the folks at Flexi about something I don't intend to buy. As I said it's just a way to help justify the purchase. The fact
I need a low wind foil is justification enough !

Snowbird remember, I am getting one to. a 6.4 And the guy said he paid a hundred dollars for it from flexi. Oh wait, that was the brake bridle. So it
may be more than that! good deal! Let me know how it flies and if the bridles are stretched from use. How can you tell? Anyway let me know if you
figure out any quirks about it.So it may help me when mine comes. Thanks! Excited for you. Also short review on lift and power would be nice.
Bladerunner - 26-7-2007 at 03:55 PM
It's a local kite and I have flown it for a few minutes before. It turned a bit slow in the low wind and I didn't even play with the lift.It should
lift me without much trouble ! The bridle that's on it seemed fine flying but I never looked at it close up. The fellow that is selling it knows his
kites and wouldn't fly it if it wasn't right. He had a mish-mash he was getting rid of because he's now riding for U-turn. Funny thing is I turned him
on to the original deal on Ebay.
I'll pick it up on the weekend.
Sthrasher38 - 26-7-2007 at 05:15 PM
Are you as excited as me about getting a blade? I have never even flown one. Whats normal crusing speed on a board with the 4.5? in 15-20 mph. wind?
thanks.
Sthrasher38 - 26-7-2007 at 06:51 PM
Wait a minute!! Is this the same guy that said I could not live without one.(Blade) But he could? He's not in a hurry. "Impulse buy" good one I will have to remember that Just messin with ya. lol.
Bladerunner - 27-7-2007 at 09:53 PM
LOL . I NEEDED a low wind kite. The 7m Bullet will fly but doesn't produce power on the almost no wind days. I didn't have to be a Blade and I wasn't
in a hurry to spend more money on kites. This thing was so cheap and so convenient I couldn't let it pass by ! Dirtslide is a real great guy that I've
known for a while. He is riding for Uturn now so had to clear out some space.
I picked it up tonight just as the wind dropped to 3mph or less. Good news is
....... You can get a ride out of this sweet beast in 3mph or less :cool2: The other good news is it came with flexi lines + handles. I was expecting
kite only :wow:
All I need now is a price I can't pass up on a 7m phsyco 2 or 3 and I'll have my dream quiver :bird: :bird:

Took the big green MACHINE out in 6 - 10 kts today . Naturally it turns
a lot better in these winds although still not as fast as some 9's and 8.5 b4 I've tried. I was riding ATB and realized I don't exactly know how to
jump properly on a board . What I was very pleased with given this
kites rep. was my abilaty to remain generally planted on terrafirma. The newer 8.5 turns a bit faster and lifts a bit more from what I've found so
far. I do think this one is a keeper though !! :bird: :bird:
Sthrasher38 - 1-8-2007 at 04:10 PM
I am hoping you need more wind. Not much lift? How fast could you go? Is that 6-10 mph I dont know how to break it down. Sorry.
Bladerunner - 2-8-2007 at 09:05 AM
I think it's around 1.1 mph to a knot ???
1.7 kph to a knot and my gps showed I did a pathetic 21.9 kph. That actually felt pretty fast. It was in a small park that I must start to think
about stopping as soon as I hit speed so I'm sure I could go about 10kph more in that wind and the right location on ATB. I'm just learning to ATB
though. I'm sure others can go faster.
