this is my creation:

the reason i'm asking:
we went to Les Hemmes (Fr.) yesterday and we set our recordspeed in the tandem to 84.2 km/h (52.3 Mph)
i'm guessing that it is a respectable speed with this kind of setup.

Wow, that's fast. I'm sure it is a record. What kite were you using and what was the wind doing?

I had often wondered about a tandem speed record. It's just that I have never heard anybody mention it or talk about it before. I know that I had gone what I thought was a pretty respectable speed with a tandem, but just never compared it to anybody else. I now see though that you have pretty well squashed any thought that I could have possibly ever had for any kind of record.. *smile* My personal best in a tandem being 42mph. Not that I had thought that I could be holding a record by any means. But least now it's confirmed. I would think that your speed has a very good chance of holding up. None better that I am aware of.

p.s.
I do have you ever so slightly beat out for a solo top speed anyway (61.8mph) I guess I would have to put an asterisk on mine though since it was with only a single gps.

Curious if you were putting power to both buggies, or just a tow buggy and a trailer?

thanks for the reply:wink2:

we used two kites: Pkd Joy 3.0m2 'in the bacS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-
and a 4.0m2 'at the front'
so a dual buggy with dual kite's

@sunset Jim

Wow...I long to get 60+MPH......one day:yes: and you are way too modest...single gps indeed, how many carry two ehh lol.

A single gps reading is fine in my book, without a doubt. Well done again

I have NO doubt you will achieve it Carl. Just a matter of the right conditions available to ya.

I may have to add perhaps a double astrisk on that one too. Being on a dry lakebed definitely helps. Just another reason for you to come out to NABX sometime... *smile*

Arhhhhhhhhh if only I had the sort of spare cash to fund a trip like that...when I done the 52, it was on a kind of drag strip and so deviating from that was nigh on impossible, I really needed to go down wind slightly, I'm sure I would have been over 55mph then.....but for round here for the time being it'll do. To get much faster in this country I need to be on the other side of the UK at Hoy Lake or Pendine Sands...there's much more space to alter direction in those places.
