Hey Sailors,
What a trip down memory lane.
Surprised me how many I recognized.

Two I want to comment on...
Pic #80 - Know who that rider is?
Who did he work for then?
Where is he now?

Pic #75 - How significant that day was for the American Buggy Scene.
Location - Wildwood NJ for the Wildwood International Kite Festival (Thanks Roger Chewning)
Year - 1989.
Rider - Sue Sedgwick (Lordy how we miss her)
Ride - Peter Lynn's first buggy prototype. Purchased by my cousin Fran Gramkowski, helping to further Peter's prototyping.
This buggy was converted from a kite-powered ice boat prototype.
Wrong in such good ways that the right way was almost immediately apparent.
Quiz... What kite (kites) is she flying?
Hint: Note her hand position.

Thanks for that nostalgic look back.
Thanks also to the intrepid builders who keep it fresh.

Pic #80 is hard to make out...

I have a question regarding #58 - That type of seat seems to make a lot of sense as far as butt protection goes. I'm sure you could cut it down and pad it as well. Any ideas as to why we don't see them in use? That particular one has no side support, but it should fit between the side rails on most buggies. Looks like the same seat used in Manta singles, which are pretty darn comfortable.

Wild collection of pics, only one missing is the Stealth Buggy.

That is a seat from an old school desk from the late 60's or early 70's. I'm sure of it. I spent too much time in one of those to forget ! Even if the rest of that period is a bit smokey :bisou:

Thanks Art....updated

elkiter - 31-7-2007 at 01:57 PM

#70 is a production buggy from Advance.
I'd say it revolutionized the race buggy in the late 90's.
One of the first to use longer axle and longer rails and padded seat, before libre et al started popping into the scene.

#12 is something else
