Kiteboarder2B - 6-8-2007 at 01:21 AM

Thinking on this one, Snowbird, you out there, any thoughts.

speleopower - 6-8-2007 at 06:31 PM

I'm interested in trying the dirtsurfer out.

I'm also interested in the kitewing for water use.

Way to go Kiteboarder  Very cool offer...

Bladerunner - 6-8-2007 at 09:32 PM

HMMMM !!!! Dirtsurfer ! Let me sleep on this one ?

Kiteboarder2B - 6-8-2007 at 09:55 PM

ok snowbird, take as long as u need. Scott, Kitewing has a water wing. I will post a link later when i am not typing on a cell. So send me an address and i will send it off soon

Bladerunner - 7-8-2007 at 08:57 AM

Assuming Scott is going for this offer, It might be good to find someone in Mid. North America to send it to on the way out West. I like the idea of trying it out A LOT !!! Another consideration for Pab's and I is our short season ?

I am not sure that dirtsurfers would get a lot of use in my bag. My local park is too small. I'ld love to be wrong though !!!

Now that would be COOL !!!!!
Do you think it would work ? :puzzled:

speleopower - 7-8-2007 at 03:11 PM

I'd like to try the dirtsurfer. What do you want me to do? Just send my address to you?

There is a new kitewing for water use. http://www.kitewing.com/wavewarrior/gallery.html

Kiteboarder2B - 7-8-2007 at 04:43 PM

yep, scott that's the water wing. Guys on the wingsurfer forum say they are having a blast with them. The 4.8 that I have would leave you pretty underpowered. Even the 5.5. is still on the low side from what I hear. An address would be convenient to send it to as I have no idea where you live and I doubt writing "To Scott aka Speleopower" would cut it for the postmaster, lol. Here's your sign Scott,ha ha.

Snowbird and Pab, I'd love to get this out to you guys too. As soon as Scott sends me info I'll compare locations and decide which is more practical to send to first. My thinking is if you have a field you can ATB on then this will do fine, you'll just get to the other end much faster is all:evil:

Kiteboarder2B - 7-8-2007 at 04:47 PM

Oh yeah, here's a new Dirtsurfer vid showing the canadian team riders pushing the envelope. I got to ride with them and they rock!

I'm pretty sure Scott is on the East Coast and we are on the West. This is why I think someone in the heartland should get involved.

I see how a kitewing and a dirtsurfer marry well but am thinking that edging with the kite low may be a bit tricky ?
Not that I'm SSSSSScared or annnnyththinng :spin:

I suspected that you would need a bigger kitewing than on land to go on water. Of course I never even thought about a kitewing on water until just now.
Lou Wainman talked about a day that we would kite with no lines. He is a visionary and must have been thinking along this line. :cool2:

speleopower - 7-8-2007 at 05:47 PM

Yeah, I'm on the east coast and the east coast of Florida on the east coast of Merritt Island/Cocoa Beach. Total eastern guy I am.

I'll give it a try with a kite:smilegrin:

Years and years and years ago we played with hand held "kites" on our skateboards. Basicly we used sail cloth strung on some old kite tube frames. It didn't work well but we were able to go downwind.

I'll U2U my address. It would be better if someone in the middle of the country got it first. I don't think I'm going to have much fun with it here due to a lack of hills in my area.

Ken, We've always got 72nd, nothing a good cleaning afterwards wouldn't take care of, fall usually brings good winds. I'll also be down in Seaside for the SOBB, perfect spot to go for a rip. I've seen them used with kites, works great, seems to get more stable at speed with no chance of a speed wobble.

On the kitewing/surf combo, only spot we have guaranteed wind has a spit that's at least 10ft off the water upwind of it blocking any low level winds. Even the windsurfers have a brutal time getting started there. Usually they fight to get out into open water and hang out far from shore. You'd have to get out in Boundary Bay somewhere with decent winds.

I am very curious to try out the DirtSurfer though, just need to find a good route for it to get out this way so it can knock off as many demo's as possible on the way.

YES, It would be great if we could take it to Sunset Beach for SOBB ! That way LOTS of folks can try it ! Good thought.

Kiteboarder2B - 8-8-2007 at 10:29 AM

I was planning on being there (SOBB), and assuming all goes right, I still will be. However, if I can't make it for some unforeseeable reason that sounds like a great idea

Wicked, saves the shipping and everything, it's really the best place to try it out for us, lots of room to move down there and I think most of the locals that would be interested will be there as well.

Kiteboarder2B - 15-11-2007 at 11:11 AM

O.K. I know I suck. I've been really busy and had a whole but load of trouble with a nasty breakup and buttload of finance woes due to said breakup. Now that is all behind me and I have all my dirtsurfers again, I would like to give this another shot. Dirtsurfer HQ is sending me a couple of demo boards, so with that coming it should be no problem to send out my 16" Freestyle Flexideck and quite possibly a 16" GP. So let's get together a efficient route for them ad I will get the ball rolling. Sorry I dropped it the first time guys

SecondWind - 15-11-2007 at 04:06 PM

Good to see you back kiteboarder! I'm riding a green 20" Flexi and a 16" FS now.

I'll shoot you a U2U with the full update!

speleopower - 15-11-2007 at 04:29 PM

I do want to try a dirtsurfer so please put me on the pass the dirtsurfer list!!!!

I'm east coast Florida for routing. pm for address.

Scott

NPWfever - 15-11-2007 at 05:36 PM

Just curious would the kitewing work on lines? Just another random questions from NPWfever. LQTMS!

Pablo - 15-11-2007 at 06:05 PM

I'd be interested in getting one up this way in Vancouver BC.

Bladerunner - 15-11-2007 at 06:46 PM

Yup Van would be great but I think we should put ourselves up for Late Feb. or Mar. I don't think that tides are in our favour during the day until then ?

Pablo - 15-11-2007 at 06:51 PM

Yeah, good point, feb would be better, although there's some great low tides after dark.

SecondWind - 15-11-2007 at 08:24 PM

Tridude - you really should try one out!

SecondWind - 15-11-2007 at 08:29 PM

Here is a pic of my 20" Flexi and 16" FS

DenisLaMenace - 15-11-2007 at 08:50 PM

is this bi or uni directional??

SecondWind - 16-11-2007 at 03:35 PM

One direction Buzz - toeside carving is good fun

Kiteboarder2B - 19-11-2007 at 09:40 AM

NPW, dont think the kitewing would work very well on lines, plus it kinda defeats the purpose of it. I would just go with a kite.

Scott, Pm me your address and I'll send one your way as soon as my demos get in

BeamerBob - 19-11-2007 at 10:13 AM

That would be kinda like rigging your buggy to stand up on. Oh no, I just opened up another idea!

speleopower - 20-11-2007 at 07:13 PM

I pm'd ya my address. Is there an ETA on the Dirtsurfers? :tumble:
I'm going up to north central Florida the first weekend of December. There are some hills to be had up there!
