Well I have been spending too much time reading about everyone else's doomwheels and it is time to build my own. I want to start by saying thank you
to everyone for the pictures and information about your builds. My wife just had our baby girl and I am going to take a week off work so I will have
some time to fiddle around in the garage in between feeding and sleeping.
I think I am going to keep it pretty simple and close to Bob's design. I am going to order the 12" wheels from northern tool. Take a look at the
pictures of the blades I am going to use. Looks like they have decent ankle support but there is a raised plastic where the bar bolts on so I am
assuming I will need to grind that off or something. Also the steel yard did not have 3/4x3/8 so I got 1"x3/8. Bob do you think that will be a
problem?
I will keep track of costs and shoot more pictures up here as I go.

I'd think that would be even better. Stiffer, with a little more weight down low.
Good Luck!

Stronger is better. And weight equals speed.
Good luck building your skates. Post action pics when you're up and rolling.
Welcome to kiteskating and congratulations on the birth of your new daughter!
