Just go my brand new (although looks like it came from the 80's) beggo 600. Other than a slice in the drawstring bag it came in that scared the hell
out of me all is well.
I read up a lot about these so all the standard equipment/mods are in route or being performed. One thing that i found strange however was that the
brake lines don't have a pig tail attached?
They just come together then are connected to another length of bridal line(about 4 foot long) with no knots or anything. Are they all like this?
Would be nice to have a general reference on where to start for adjusting the brakes.

Air,
Thats normal for a brand new Bego. Tie a knot on each brake bridle about 20 inches up from the end, and hook up your lines. Take her out and adjust as
necessary, keeping in mind the bego likes tight brake lines. You need a small crease running the entire length of the sails trailing edge. Once you
observe that in flight youve got the brake length correct. You will also need to install power rings. This will actually add power to your sail, keep
the brakes lines tight and in unison with your power lines. You want each power ring about 5 inches long. Larks knot the looped leader to the main
bridle above your line knot and the ring or pulley above your brake bridle knot. If you use a pulley you will have to temp untie your bridle knot then
retie after the pulley is installed. I attached a pic of power ring set up installed and power rings using pulleys, uninstalled. Tapping the brakes
actually helps the Bego to accelerate thru the window, increasing power delivery. Its a wild kite with some initial tinkering, but once you have it
dialed, its a monster!

Once again tridude thanks, I have a chance to get out in the AM with some pretty nice winds coming. Probably spend the whole day tweaking, but it's
good to have a place to start concerning the brake leaders.
As for the rings i grabbed some ronstans already, just putting them on now.

Well i was able to get her up today, winds were heading in strong and fast so i didn't have to much time. But i was still able to get it dialed in
pretty well. Adjusted the brakes as you suggested to start, the rest was easy.
Flew it stock first to check it out, then removed the connecting line. She's a beast, winds were blowing right under 10mph to start and kept
increasing during my session so i decided against putting on the pulleys until i get a feel for it or i get some lower wind speeds.
I had a bit of trouble getting it to turn well, just seems slow. But i also had a few turns that were just great so i guess i just need more practice
with it. Couldn't hold on to it to well when the winds kicked up, somewhere around 15mph with some gust to 20 i had to pack it up. I could not keep my
feet on the ground, i would take two steps, get a gust and up i go, over and over.
Wouldn't of minded so much if i had a harness but my forearms were BURNING, it was also a bit hard to reverse land it with the high winds to take
breaks, i assume the cell stiffeners played a role as well which will be great on those low wind days which is why i bought it. All in all I'm
extremely pleased.

Man, thats not ugly! Sweet kite Air! The power rings will def increase your turning rate, so that every turn is practically the same, fast! Glad you
had a stellar sesh! I told you she's a monster. There are a few members here that have felt that same burn, great isnt it? That skytex material is so
transparent, but durable. It doesnt get much better Air!Welcome to extreme power 101!

This was my 600, bought from Davinch, sold to Divadoris! They love color to say the least at Mac Para! The second pic has a shot of the power rings
installed!
