Strapped in???

Parastorm_uk - 20-4-2004 at 06:25 AM

I've been buggying as mad as I can since my girlfiriend bought me a buggy for Xmas.
I've been in and around some strong winds and been whizzed out of my seat endless amounts... I was watching a buggying video and saw some good stunts with guys bouncing over dunes at quite a height but staying ass glued to the buggy.. Are they using some special straps or just going really fast.
I want to give it a go but the idea of being strapped in airborne with a slight twist to the side could be a nasty landing... Who's attempted it and how do you do it... Is it worth it?

Greets, Para!

Yep, you need a seat belt for "big air" in a buggy. Velcro fastener for quick release... and watch that rear axle upon landing. It has a nasty habit of catching one in the back of the noggin.

Of course, if you're being yanked skyward a lot, you're flying too much kite, in the U.S. In Great Britain, it just means you need more beer.

Brits all fly HUGE kites, probably because they're so much smaller in other areas, heh, heh.

But seriously, folks, be careful out there; buggy skyward, but try not to land on the local constable... you've lost enough beaches over there, already... we'd just hate to have you all flying over here every weekend to play on the dry lakes!

There are actually some people that are "buggy jumping". Using very large lifty kites to jump with your buggy just like a kite-boarder would do. I would just worry about landing on my butt like that. Seems a good way to get a spinal injury.

it can be very dangerous if people try it with out knowing how to do it properly and also with out any safety gear. Here is a link to my gallery you can see me jumping my buggy

your all wrong! buggy jumping is the best thing you can do in a buggy, i am 14 and im not scared about buggy jumping at all.it isnt scary,it feels safe and if your hitting your noggin then your doing it wrong. to be able to jump you need a strap, just a cut off seatbelt is good. to make it even better, sew the strap round the frame, this will stop you from losing your belt.

Ill have none of this racin malarkee
