While my "twins" may come to regret it :o, I'm using a climbing harness with a locking carabiner attached to a Wichard 2673 Quick-Release Shackle as the foundation of my captive static / buggying harness. I'm now looking for a pulley with sealed bearings.
I thought about the Petzl Fixe or Petzl Mini based on some reviews on the FF forum. These are available from my local REI or online for about $30-$40.
If these are suitable pulleys, I'm wondering how best to attach them to the quick release--directly by feeding Wichard latch through the pulley
faceplate holes, or by using a D-shackle or carabiner? I want to be sure the metal pulley faceplate isn't going to hangup on the hinge of the Wichard
QR shackle when it opens.
So my connections would be Climbing Harness --> Locking carabiner --> Swiveling Wichard QR Shackle --> (D-shackle / carabiner???) -->
Pulley--> Strop / Handles / Kite.
So to summarize this lengthy interrogatory prose...
(1) What do you think about these pulleys?
(2) How should they attach to the Wichard?
(3) Am I missing anything with this harness setup?

With the Petzl's wouldn't you just go... harness - carabiner - wichard - Petzl?
Adding another D shackle or carabiner would be a bit of a hindrance i think. Especially since you already would have to juggle the Petzl to get in on
the strop, then attach it to the wichard. I don't believe snagging is an issue as most people using the Petzl do it this way.

I'm a bit delayed on this post, but figured it would be good to post for completeness.
You're right, AirH0g. Thanks! Once I got all the pieces, they went together fine the way you said. They didn't require an extra D-shackle or
carabiner between the Wichard and the pulley.
