Got a small puncture in one of my landboard wheels last night. Heard a lot of good things about slime but have some questions:
1) How much to use - Tire measures 8.5 (H) x 2.5 (W)?
2) Should I buy the standard slime or the heavy duty stuff (usually ride on hard grass or dirt)?
3) Since I'm fixing one, should I fill the other 3 as a preventive measure?
I was also thinking about buying a patch kit as an alternative or is slime really that good and this wouldn't be necessary?

has worked well in my buggy tires - I scaled the qty down to roughly match the smaller tire. I've had a large number of thistles stuck in all my tires
for a couple of weeks now and they're all still up...

I have no experience with slime but do currently run with two tubes that have been patched. Both had slow leaks with pin hole tears. I used bike
tube patches and have had no problems with them thus far.

I would be leary of using the slime since it makes such a mess inside the tube and tire. It isn't that hard to patch a tube with one of the new peel
and stick patches. The only advantage I can see with the slime is if you ride where there are briers or thorns or thistles, the slime would seal new
holes as you got them I imagine. For the infrequent leak though I can patch a bicycle tire in less than 5 minutes with the new patches.

long it's been since I repaired a leak...lucky I guess.
Does Walmart have them...One stop shopping!

I get mine at a bike shop but they might be at Walmart. They aren't expensive at all. A far cry from the ones my dad used to catch on fire to finish
up.

I got mine at wallmart. 20 peel and stick patches with the scuffer and 2 of the tools used to pry the tire off the hub included.
I think it was $9.99.

I used the patch kit from the dollar store with glue and rubber you cut... has worked fine. Never tried the slime myself.
Then one day i saw a set of complete tires/rims here on the PKF for sale section... now I always have a quick spare if I need it. If I just ride on
grass or the sand at the beach, a set of tires last a long time. When we start to get some cold fronts and I hit the parking lot near my house,
cement or asphalt can shred a set of tires pretty quick...
SLIME is good stuff!

Personally, I HATE removing buggy tires on the hot playa, and I've been using SLIME for years now. It works great, I've never had such a bad leak
that it made a mess, but I've had many small punctures that would have stopped me for an hour for patching... instead I just air up a little and keep
riding!

The slime is awesome if you're buggying somewhere where you're guaranteed to get punctures. We're been buggying where theres tons of these real hard
thistle things growing on weeds and they get stuck all over your tires, and even snap off leaving part stuck through the tires and puncturing the
tube. With the slime I've left most of them in there, but if you pull one of the thorns out it goes 'pssst-thupp' as the slime fills the hole... seems
to work pretty well!

Well I picked up some patches and some "Airlock Tire Sealant". Guy had recommended ATS over Slime. Did the water test and patched the two holes.
Thought, that was easy...put the tire together, done.
About an hour later, tire was starting to deflate. Thought it was my patch job but turns out there was 3 other very small holes...Thought, well this
would be a good time to use the ATS.
It was a little difficult to get the stuff in there. Kept wanting to get sucked back in the bottle. Finally managed to get the stuff into the
tire...pumped it back up, did the water test, and all three holes are plugged.
Tire is still perfect 9 hours later...I'm sold, this stuff is awesome!

I used to use slime when i was a downhill mountainbiker; it stopped big high speed blow outs.
There are toughter teflon strips you can get to go in tyres, cant remember the names tho. But slime are good.
