Ive got some cool pics but i dont know how to put one up

HELP!??!?!?!

Pablo - 3-10-2007 at 09:25 AM

Best way is to find somewhere online to host them, Photobucked is one option.

Then post up the image like this:

[#img]location of where pic is hosted[#/img]

Take out the two # symbols, just put them there so you could see the code

Why is the legend winking if you aren't turning it? Did you just stop turning and it hasn't sorted itself out yet?:spin:

Yeah, exactly. The photographer didn't wait for the kiter to shake it out after doing aerial acrobatics! :singing:

BeamerBob - 4-10-2007 at 08:21 AM

Here is a pic of me in the local paper doing a first flight with a Blaze 5.0. This is what I use as my avatar.

edit: the photographer was there for a meeting to decide how to mess up my big kite field with buildings and stuff. It usually has clean winds from the west.

Leave it to Big $$$ to try & figure out a way to ruin a good thing... Covering an open field with buildings or worse yet...a Golf course...

Showing off is so cool for us guys isnt it?:D

SecondWind - 20-10-2007 at 08:01 PM

Nice pics of the Phantom Baluk

I still have not had a chance to fly a PL.

Baluk - 21-10-2007 at 07:57 AM

Thanks Joe. I do like them, but this winter I think I may have a Flysurfer/Montana/Manta instead. I still have to see. I'll be sad to let it go, but I had fun with it.. :)

Pablo - 21-10-2007 at 08:42 AM

Hey DaVinch, should swap a Scorpion for a Psyco for a little while.

Inch_Speller - 21-10-2007 at 12:44 PM

BeamerBob - 31-10-2007 at 05:59 AM

Is there a discount when you buy kites by the case?:D

Baluk - 31-10-2007 at 12:42 PM

No, but to make it seem like less kites to the wife, you have to give some of them away to nice 'ole chaps like us... (even if it is only for a several weeks)

BeamerBob - 31-10-2007 at 01:23 PM

Some pics I found made them look very high AR. Are they lifty?

falls.jpg - 135kB

Baluk - 31-10-2007 at 02:49 PM

Is that Niagara Falls? haha. Nice

Bob, the Combat has a very high aspect ratio. It's a full on race kite. They have tons of lift and speed.

Here're some pics:

http://www.kite-buggy.de/my/combat/combat06.htm

Pablo, speaking of the AR, did you get any specs with them yet?

Pablo - 31-10-2007 at 05:24 PM

No specs yet, but I had a chance to lay the 2.9m production run combat over the 4.8m Proto, they're close to the same wing span, The span on the 2.9m is probably somewhere between the 4.5m and the 5.5m Century. So higher aspect than the 4.8m Proto that people have tried.

To measure the aspect do I just have to compare wingspan to depth nose to tail? If so I can measure most of them and get some pretty close numbers

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f201/targo88/4.jpg?t=11938...

4.8m proto Combat beside the 4.5m Century. Yes the 2.9 is wider than the 4.5m Century

Baluk - 31-10-2007 at 05:39 PM

Pablo, by saying the 2.9 is wider, do you mean the lenght (span) or the height from the leading to trailing edge?

Pablo - 31-10-2007 at 06:04 PM

Nope, wider wingtip to wingtip, wider wingspan, it's a bit narrower nose to tail than the Combat proto and a fair bit narrower nose to tail than the Century

Baluk - 31-10-2007 at 06:07 PM

Ahh... that confused me... thanks

Just to put it into some more perspective for you guys, Pablo told me it was a "ribbon" haha.

I'm psyched to try it out.

1oldkid - 31-10-2007 at 08:13 PM

Man! That sure fills up a family room floor!

Pablo - 31-10-2007 at 09:28 PM

Took some rough measurements of the 5m, wing span is a hare over 5m and it's roughly 1m leading edge to trailing edge, I'm guessing this puts the aspect ratio around the 5:1 mark, That's with me spreading out the kite on the floor as best as possible, Still have to get the official factory specs.

Sthrasher38 - 2-11-2007 at 02:02 PM

Baluk, Why do the lines on those look so short? Or are they?:borg:

Baluk - 2-11-2007 at 02:04 PM

For the combat pics i posted?

Well, they arent my pics so I cant really say.

Sthrasher38 - 2-11-2007 at 02:27 PM

Have you ever flown on lines that short?

Pablo - 2-11-2007 at 04:41 PM

looks like 20m lines, big kite.

Sthrasher38 - 2-11-2007 at 04:47 PM

I never thought of it just being a big kite making the lines look shorter. Any idea how flight would be with short lines? You would most likely have to really be on top of things because all movement would be like right now no delay.

Baluk - 2-11-2007 at 05:06 PM

Yep - I'd assume that sthrasher... smaller window to work in though. (How short of lines are you thinking though)

Pablo - 2-11-2007 at 06:10 PM

Guys have been known to race on 15's, but 20 is common, With the short lines you go from top of window to full power to 180 change of direction right now, very quick change from full speed to max lift as well.

Now if you go with long lines, you get way more power stroke, good for either getting more power out of a kite or when the wind down low is messy you can fly higher in the clean winds.

Sthrasher38 - 2-11-2007 at 06:43 PM

I'll belive that.

Pdxnebula - 2-11-2007 at 06:51 PM

Gulf; what "Length" lines are you using on your Pansh 3.0m ??? I have 1 good set of 300/100 lb lines but thier 100' footers... Thus I cant seem to get any decent pix of myself & the kite in the same picture without being far off & nearly out of the picture or really blurry...
