We had some nukin winds here this weekend! Today the winds were 25 - 35 with gusts over 40.
I still wanted to fly, so I took my sons Flexifoil Big Buzz (tiny 2 line foil) and I headed out to a local paved bike trail.
The winds were directly perpindicular to the trail.
I did six miles back and forth with a Krack Skulls M1 Longboard skateboard (http://www.krackedskulls.com/).
My top speed was only 24mph, but it felt really fast... I know I could have gone faster, but I was too scared
Anyone here ever try out a kite with a skateboard?

we do it here in a small marina and empty parking lot but only in LIGHT winds and small trainer kites.
pad up and wear gloves.... pavement is brutal.

Yup! Been riding on my long board for quite a few years in lighter winds. Unfortunately the place I used to ride at now has an auditorium on the
lot.

6 miles is a good run. Sounds like fun.
Wish I could say the winds out here have been good for traction but I've only been out 3 times since July 4th. Can't wait for the leaves to fall off
the trees and the winter winds to arrive.
I'm back to tricking the heck out of my sport kites. Its been fun but I'm jonesing to get on my board again.

Hey B-Roc,
It was really a good time. The 6 miles was total - back and forth a bunch.
I ordered one of Ted's 1m Profoils for the next longboard session!

I did it the other day with my NPW and my longboard in winds ready to pick me up with the brake lines on 20-30 That was SICK! must have hit at least
25 but speed wobble is nasty. I tightned up my trucks and i have foot straps so i can jump if i get wobble and spill alot of speed.

This is how I got hooked on kiting. One day my friend and I where cleaning his garage and We found some old four line 3m.At that time We used to
rollerblade all the time so I got idea to use kite to do hard work.Next thing You know I was towing my friend on pavement doing 20mph 1 mile each
way.By the end of the day We had 9 miles and some skin missing .That moment I
knew where I'm going.Straight to buy me a new kite that was.

Not yet...I purchased a little 1m to use with the longboard, but it has been raining here forever :flaming:
Bladerunner - 18-10-2007 at 09:49 AM
I stumbled on the idea of kite rollerblading with my 3m mostly out of desperation. It was that move that introduced me to the whole concept of land
kiting and life has been better ever since !

I had a chance to use the 1m ProFoil today with my longboard - the winds were around 25 to 33 mph. The little Profoil flew pretty well
The winds shifted some and I coudn't make it back - I had to skate 2 miles back to the truck
speleopower - 15-11-2007 at 08:38 PM
To much fun. There is a place about one hour from me where there is quite a bit of open space and empty roads. I should go try to kiteskate there.

I'm wondering about some of the local shopping centers on Christmas day! It is so strange to see the Walmart parking lot without a single car.

Does anybody else own a Kracked Skulls board and use it with a kite. That board looks sick.
