Yep Pendulum. You have the best bet in comming down in a semi controlled manor...
If you watch YouTUBE you will learn what NOT TO DO: Amatures doing a depower to power technique. http://youtube.com/watch?v=0210yh3Ser4
You would swear their teching SUPERMAN jumps....5m1FF - 5-10-2007 at 02:44 AM
Pendulum jumps are always the way for me, pit jumps are just a bit kind of.... uncomfortable?NPWfever - 17-10-2007 at 02:47 PM
What is the proper wind speed to jump with a 8 meter and to get the max jump out of it, without flying away?NPWfever - 17-10-2007 at 05:28 PM
Somoney....nice link to a crazy jump...haven't seen that one before...that's the #@%$#! that scares me about those lifty kites. I want to get into
jumping, both static and board on land, but just knowing that some kites can lift like that....damn!ExLax - 22-10-2007 at 03:00 PM
ahrm... im one of those depower-power people. It's actually quite enjoyable. Of course that only works in higher winds but it adds a kick. and of
course i do pendulums. A kite with quick launching/quick transition from depowered to powered is needed. Drop it down to a nice half way mark
(pointing towards the zenith) and power. walk back a couple of steps and jump.
I have perfected the superman as well as what i call the "scorpion". Its where you kick your feet back and touch your head. looks great. the more I
kite the crazier I get!

LIT
invert heel click over the line set, long drifts after you swing your legs back down
did my first invert boost heel click and 360 spin fallowed with kite loop last weekendPdxnebula - 30-10-2007 at 04:15 PM
Before I try any kind of Jump with a kite, think I'll get at least some 500lb power lines, still dont trust 300lb's with my 200lb on the end
of them...Sthrasher38 - 2-11-2007 at 05:40 PM
Slinger, Bad a## buggy I wish you would have that with you the day I saw you at the beach. Are you jumping with the same 9m? What's the wind speed? I
should have talked with you longer that day. I will be going that way again soon we will have to hook up and burn some of that wind.Sthrasher38 - 2-11-2007 at 05:42 PM
Nebula, I have 550# and I am 220lb. I trust my line Just always be sure to check gear before getting air.KYTE SLINGER - 6-11-2007 at 08:12 PM
Sthrasher
I been trying to nail the 360 spin invert heal click..
so
I switched over to the 7m Haka for huge jumps.. its lighter than the 9m and quicker to the zenith for huge vertical jumps... You'll lose a bit
boost raising up over the lines but if you time it to hit the pinnacle of the power+ I try to pump a bit more lift by over extension w/ my legs after
the click And I still can get the long drifts after I swing my legs down
the 9m tends to carry me out more before I can really load up the lines{I need to eat more pie for body weight} unless I'm nice and lit were I don't
have to swing the kite to much.
When I'm on the buggy no problem cause of the extra weight , opposing force and speed... the 9m is higher in the zenith as to deeper in the window
during the jump
The photo of the SLKs behind me were around 100'+ I was hitting 50' jumps that day gaging from the hotel 3th floor+ the 15 foot the sea wall at 50' i
can see over the hotel roof line.... winds speed was 16-20mph and playing off the bubble {up draft}of the hotel height and sea wall
E-mail me before you come so I can have all the wings out that day for you to try outKYTE SLINGER - 6-11-2007 at 08:15 PM
BTW I nail the 360 heal click fallowed with a unexpected kite loop:oSthrasher38 - 7-11-2007 at 06:43 PM
OFF THE HOOK! congrats! I will try to contact ahead of time. Maybe around Christmas. I am looking forward to when that day comes. Thanks for the run
down on Haka size.DAKITEZ - 15-11-2007 at 07:33 PM
Slinger where you the guy on the buggy at the SF kite day at marina green in sept ?KYTE SLINGER - 16-11-2007 at 07:29 AM
Slawek, Christoph Riddle and myself were there .Choppy winds and narrow area to ride in:sniff:Pdxnebula - 22-11-2007 at 01:48 AM
Im still trying to get up the GUTS, to try ANY jump even just a few inches or foot or two, & with whichever kite... Probably the 9.0mē
"Buster", but of course I dont have a lid & the winds around here suck for being any kind of Steady... Hopefully Friday at the beach will be
better, wanting to put the ProFoil 3.5mē through its paces...BeamerBob - 22-11-2007 at 05:27 AM
If the buster is a lifter, and you just want to feel some lift, there is a less complicated (frowned upon) method. You can apply some brakes and let
the kite drift straight down in front of you to about 10-10:30. Then get off the brakes and the kite will power up and lift you. The downside is bad
if you drift lower and then power up. That is called a "superman". You will need enough wind for the kite though, otherwise you will just scud a
little.Pdxnebula - 28-11-2007 at 07:39 PM
Im sure theres been enough Wind somedays near here at the park to jump but always seems theres gusts & not steady, with all the wind
shadows from the trees... & now having to deal with the mudhole its obviously become after the "Vehicle Cookie" (30-40 of them)
incedent...NPWfever - 28-11-2007 at 07:57 PM
Does anyone know if they still make the mandibules? That is one hell of a lifty kite.barnes - 2-12-2007 at 11:44 AM

Lifty, and ridiculously dangerous. Its a 2 line kite, so no brakes on that bad boy. NPWfever - 2-12-2007 at 03:07 PM
Well sure but those jumps are SICK!! But the thing about a 2 line on handles is you do have an abort system, let go of one handle. :frog:
