I've got a couple sets of these handles, I like them more than pie right now. I highly recomend them:cool:

I know they're sweet, but better than pie?

AirH0g - 19-10-2007 at 06:23 PM

I agree with Pablo... I mean c'mon now.... it's PIE.

:D

Pdxnebula - 19-10-2007 at 06:41 PM

I dont get it... Pie??? What about Cake & what do they mean by, no line crossovers??? The only time my lines get crossed, is if I let the kite do loops...

leebrianh - 19-10-2007 at 07:09 PM

What's so good about those handles? Can you be more specific?

B-Roc - 19-10-2007 at 07:20 PM

They look nice and maybe its just me, but IMO, plain old 1/2" pvc with foam padding and nice 2-3mm spectra leaders make the best handles.

I love mine to bits though most people would look at them as if they were junk. Super comfy with a great curvature suited to my holding of the handles below the leader.

IMO the curve of the handle is real important which is why I don't like FF as much. I want a decent % of the handle to be above the curve so you don't HAVE to have the leader through your finger. I don't like handles with short tops and long bottoms.

And I prefer foam for padding and the thicker the better if its got some squish to it. I've redone some handles with 10 speed handlebar foam.....mmmmmm.... sweet.

But that's just me.

USA_Eli_A - 20-10-2007 at 09:59 AM

the brake line leaders come out of the bottom of the handles, not the front.
super strong harness loop connects right to the power line leaders. Did I mention they are carbon fiber, with a foam grip recessed into the handles.
they are smooth! And the curve is PERFECT. It's a much more significant feel when one is trying to dial in just the right amount of breaks. EVERYONE is buying them after a quick demo on my gear. They are completely PIMP! It's a couple sets of handles that I won't have to replace, pvc is cool. I just don't have time to make handles as good as these carbon fiber ones. And trust me, I've made hundresds of sets of PVC handles. Our friend phil has an assembly line for them.

Pablo - 20-10-2007 at 01:32 PM

They fit your hand perfectly, the bend for the brakes is just right, padding feels good and comfy without being overly fluffy, and yeah, I don't think they'll break to easily.

Put it this way, I'm considering getting a couple sets for my race kites. They're all that and a bag of chips.

B-Roc - 20-10-2007 at 02:10 PM

Well, if they are all that AND a bag of chips... then I may have to check them out next time I get a chance.

Pablo - 20-10-2007 at 02:40 PM

Well, they work good and I don't think they'll break easy, I eat up the plastic handles, I usually get a good 6 months to a year out of the PKD handles, but on the big kites, I still thrash them eventually, probably has something to do with a 13m+ race kite in 12mph winds. I haven't managed to kill any of my handles on anything smaller than the 9m Buster.

Plus they're carbon fibre and look cool.

jellis - 20-10-2007 at 03:08 PM

Sorry Eli I have to go with PIE.

How about a "Pass the Ozone Handles with the Combat" program Pablo?
No lines, but I think using better handles would be fun :singing:

zloty - 20-10-2007 at 05:40 PM

Yeah, I seems to brake everything so far looking forward to get one that will last.If You guys want I can demo them and maybe make them ,,Slawek approved,, and that would be like unbreakable in English.
Here is very nice review by one of heavy freestyle buggy jumper from New Zealand http://extremekites.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=4746

USA_Eli_A - 20-10-2007 at 05:43 PM

let me know what you need for handles pablo, you'll have to figure out how to recieve them. Maybe I could pack it with some pie. I can make one out of my pumpkins for you. A nice pumpkin pie, ooooo......what if we threw a pie at Ellis during SOBB. EVEN BETTER, LETS LOAD IT IN HIS potato gun with glow stixs and shoot it at next years buring kite.

Pablo - 20-10-2007 at 06:21 PM

Eli, Give me a couple days, got a number of boxes showing up at my door any day now and I should really see what's inside them first.

How good are your pumpkin pies anyways, you don't go with those store bought junk ones do you? It'll have to be home made. If you could arrange a cherry pie that'd be way better as well.

As for Jellis, I think we could rig something up to his door so when he stumbles out after breakfast we can all watch him get plastered with a cream pie.

Man I need more wind.

Baluk - 20-10-2007 at 06:25 PM

Slawek,

That review is nuts. He goes through handles like Eli with pies. (sorry, I jsut had to say that Eli. - everyone was talking about pies so I had to chime in)

Honestly though. At least we know the Ozone handles withstand the pressures that he puts them through. Taking a look at those pictures again... sure do looks like awesome handles.

USA_Eli_A - 21-10-2007 at 03:52 PM

I wonder what an apple, onion, and potato pie would tast like if I used the handles as utensils.

Baluk - 21-10-2007 at 03:55 PM

I have yet to try that one Eli!

Pablo - 21-10-2007 at 07:20 PM

Well, I could see using them as chopsticks for potatoe chunks, but eating pie, that'd just be nuts

Pdxnebula - 21-10-2007 at 08:01 PM

What's everyone thinking of Throwin Pie at now??? I missed something...

Baluk - 21-10-2007 at 08:04 PM

Basically, Eli apparently loves pies!

Pablo - 21-10-2007 at 09:14 PM

All the fast guys love pies, it's ballast to hold down the big kites. At the rate I'm going I'll be the champ in no time.
