bridle adjustment?

firewirepl - 21-11-2007 at 11:29 AM

Hey guys,

Do you guys know where I get info on how to adjust everything on my blade iv 8.5. There are many adjustments that I would like to make but not sure of the effects. Thanks,
JW

Like, whats static grunt and going up wind.

Also, they say the very lowest angle of attack is for exp users but I figured the highest angle of attack would be since it the most powerful for like jumping right?

and i would take a low angle of attack of really windy days so i can have more control and maybe mountain boarding?

also what do the cross bridle system adjustments on the blade, the 6.5 version and 8.5 have them. Does it make it turn tighter?

high angle of attack = fast kite no lift
low angle of attack = lots of grunt big air potential

to stay in control you'll want to control the kite on the outer parts of the window. to power up and 'bust a move' swing the kite into the window and then send it up.

Normally tightening a cross bridle will make your kite turn tighter

But does it have left lift with tighter turns?

USA_Eli_A - 21-11-2007 at 01:41 PM

yes, it will lift.

acampbell - 21-11-2007 at 01:52 PM

lowest angle of attack for exp users not because of extreme power but you have to stay on top of it as it can over-fly the edge of the window and tuck.

bad mispelling. I MEAN less lift with tighter turns.

USA_Eli_A - 21-11-2007 at 03:45 PM

less lift will have more to do with the angle of attack. But if you redirect your kite quickly you could suddenly get lifted

Is this yor first kite? It sounds like you are a little unsure of what it can do.:borg:

firewirepl - 21-11-2007 at 10:00 PM

yeah it is...Actually today i took my kite out and it was about 16 mph windows with gusts of 25mph and for the first time in 6 sessions I was scared sh*tless....

I was thinking that this kite didn't have enough power with my needs but I guess it does...i wish i could have flown it at a very low power so i wouldn't be so freaked out. I'm about 205 and it it lifted me up easy and made me its rag doll today on this cold and windy day. I'm thinking about doing to a flysurfer depowerable psycho 3 (or pulse 2?), 12 meter or something....will that would have been better managed on super low power for the day i had? Because i still want a kind with tons of power and lift and speed.

firewirepl - 21-11-2007 at 10:02 PM

plus i'm mountain boarding now and would like different powers, this would have been way to crazy to fly my 8.5 blade iv

Tea, look in the kite jumping section uder (like father like son) post. That is what happend to me when I failed to re-direct in time. Ouch!
