Hey I just got a pretty good deal on a used 2002ish? MBS Comp16. the board has the old style channel trucks on it, post bindings with adjustable
baseplates, and the V4 brake system.
I haven't used a mountainboard with a kite before so I'm not really sure how stiff I want the trucks to be. currently the board does not have any egg
shocks in the trucks and it didn't come with any. the springs are currently installed in the wider spaced slots, I'm guessing for a stiffer ride?
I weight about 200lbs and I'm wondering if I should pick up a set of eggs and if so which ones should I get. Yellow, Orange or Red?

I'm 5'-10" & 200# and just started landboarding this summer on a 2005 MBS Comp 16 with F3 bindings and yellow eggs. It all depends on how sloppy
the board feels - if the springs are tightened all the way and you turn too easily you need eggs. Yellow eggs are soft, orange harder, and red
hardest. The harder the egg, the stiffer the trucks are. If you get eggs that are too hard you can always move the springs to the narrow slots.
I ride on grass soccer fields and have no beaches to try but I suspect that it might make a difference in how stiff you want your trucks to be. I only
use the mountain board for kiting too so I don't have to turn too much.
I also have the springs installed in the wider slots and found the yellow eggs too soft so I changed to orange eggs with the spring adjusters just
poking above the top of the board. The board is still easy to turn but I still wonder if I should change to red eggs because I get too much healside
input and start heading too high in stronger winds & gusts. It helps to loosen my bindings so that my heal does not hang too far off the edge of
the board.
I have'nt tried riding toeside yet either.....

I may try the red eggs off of what you're saying. Since this is an older Comp 16 I don't have any spring adjustment that I know of. I think all I can
do is pick either the inside or outside mounting points for the springs.
How was turning with the Orange Eggs? I like how the board turns right now for just cruising but I could see it being a big problem with heel pressure
from a kite. I'd definitely like something that will minimize speed wobble too if I decide to try and use it as a long board on the no wind days.
