This is interesting, though anyone that's been caught on the playa during a rain shower shouldn't be too surprised the wind could do it. Slick stuff!

I vote wind. Looking at the google map of the area the mountains are real close to the lake bed and that will funnel the winds and increase the wind
speed.

This was pretty cool. I saw this on a television show also. Agroup of scientists were studying the movements of the rocks on the dry lakebed. If
memory serves me right the show was on TLC, but it could have been discovery nonetheless it was pretty interesting to see.
